MLB Post Season 2017

Yeah. Kershaw decided to go "LOL, I'm Kershaw" mode and the Dodgers offense took advantage of the heat.

That said, I think not pitting Darvish against Verlander is a horrible mistake. Rich Hill has been excellent this postseason but he's going against a hitting core of Altuve, Correa, and others. Darvish is better suited for that. Sure, ideally you'd want to pick up a win in Texas since the Astros are hot at home but still.

I still think we drafted the wrong Correa

Indeed. We’ll take Carlos Correa every time.

I’ll say this though. If Kershaw Pitches like that again then the Dodgers are going to win it all. I did not expect him to play possibly the best game of his career yesterday.

With the sheer amount of farm depth that they’ve got combined with the elite level talent all over the place, if they win this series they’re going to be the early 2000s Yankees on steroids. They’re using modern day analytics in combination with an elite farm system and Scrooge mcduck levels of money.

I had game 1 as a W for the Dodgers anyway. Ultimately Kershaw + heat = Dodgers victory because of the sheer amount of depth that they have and playing a basically unhittable pitcher is going to hurt everyone.

Game 2 is a different story. Rich Hill is a very good pitcher but I don’t like the idea of him starting game 2 vs Red Hot Verlander who appears to have turned the clock back a little. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dodgers were shut out tomorrow and Hill gets skull fucked by Altuve.

So let me ask everyone, why does LA get homefield advantage? The AL won the allstar game this season which means it should be houstons advantage. Did they change the rule int he offseason?

Yeah, they changed it to whoever has the best record.

As they should have.
Yeah. The AL has a few teams that are super competitive every year because of sheer talent. MLB recognized the disparity and made it more fair for everyone.

I mean seriously. Who's REALLY in the NL that can challenge this dodgers squad?
Cubs? About to lose Arietta to the Yankees in FA in all likelihood. Hitting outside of Bryant has fallen off of a cliff
Nationals? They're cursed and Harper is probably going to leave soon. Have top end talent that can match the dodgers blow for blow, but lesser depth across the board
Rockies? Only if they're in first in the division to get the Colorado home advantage. But even then, the Dodgers bats can keep up with there's.
Diamondbacks-Again, Dodgers bats can keep up with theres. Dodgers pitching depth also superior.
Giants- Are now old, outside of MadBum and a solid pitching core, they don't realy have too much going for them. No farm.

Don't get me wrong. Those teams have some nice players but overall the AL has a lot more talent.

And it doesn't make sense for an exhibition game to determine the home field advantage.

I suppose this is somewhat relevant to postseason talk, but yes, @Militant X 1 it's overrated because they won 20 titles before the free agency era and at a time when the NL and AL DID NOT play each other at all until the World Series. The Yankees won 18 titles during a time when there were eight teams in the AL, meaning they just had to beat seven other teams to make the World series.

No where near as competitive as now and it shows with only two titles won since 2000.

While I do agree with that, you can also argue the NL is an easier league for this season at least and dodgers have a more padded record thus giving them an easier home field advantage shot.

I'd argue that the AL was more top heavy than the NL this season.

This is why I said the Dodgers are gonna lose.

Next three are at houston, where they don't lose. Dodgers needed to win this game. This is game

A little early for that
Not at all: This dodgers team chokes harder than a pornstar every fucking year. This was expected. The Astros are unstoppable at home. They're not going to win a game there unless Darvish pitches a perfect game on friday.
Hill looked ok for the 4 innings that he pitched.
Not really. Had a few strikeouts but he got worked. That's something that doesn't happen to Darvish. In the WS you play to win and you should play smart. Darvish was the better play tonight. Not only that but putting Kanley in during the eight inning and going deeper into the bullpen than you had to was also stupid.

Just incompetent management.
