Next Up: @ Steelers

This is where I was the other day, but then what if at week 18 with Playoff implications they have to delay then. I get that they need to get it in, but while it would be bad for us to have been forced to play earlier, the Steelers have to be apprehensive about playing us at all. I wonder if after all the trash talk the other day about just playing the game they even want to hit the field with us. Who really cares, but if their guys get sick just wait for all the cries of foul then. Don't think we could have gotten much closer to a forfeit than this.

My question would be so what if the Week 18 game gets delayed due to Covid? There are no more timelines until the virus is under control.

Playoff hockey in the fall , Masters in November , it’s all great , the NFL should embrace it

Well those aren't exactly apples to apples comparisons. Those are moving entire seasons or large events, and doing so months in advance.

On the surface, a week 18 game isn't that big of a deal, I guess. The challenge becomes what happens if you a team has multiple postponed games until week 18? In short, that can't happen, without moving the SB, which is what the NFL is trying to avoid.

And lets not pretend like there's "no more timelines". If there were no more timelines, then the NFL season wouldn't have started in September, right before what everybody knew was going to be the peak of the COVID outbreaks. Similarly, why didn't the NFL just cancel all games at the first sign of adversity, much like the NBA and NHL did?

Answer... because things have changed, and we're more capable of dealing with it now. Nobody knew anything in March, when we cancelled March Madness, the Masters, NBA, NHL, etc.

Soooooo here's the updated potential roster for tomorrow...

QB (2): Griffin, McSorley/Huntley
RB (4): Dobbins, Edwards, Ingram, Hill
WR (5): Brown, Bryant, Duvernay, Boykin, Proche
TE (3): Willson, Tomlinson, Culkin
OL (8): Brown, Bozeman, Colon-Castillo, Powers, Fluker, Phillips, Bredeson, Prince/Rodgers
DL (4): Wolfe, Ellis, Washington, Williams/Crawford
OLB (4): Ngakoue, Bowser, Ferguson, Adeoye/Rivers
ILB (5): Queen, Harrison, Fort, Board, Welch
CB (5): Humphrey, Peters, Smith, T. Williams, Harris
S (5): Clark, Elliott, Levine, Richards, Stone
ST (3): Tucker, Koch, Moore

Looking a little better. Defensive front 7 is still pretty ugly. BWill is eligible to return and it sounds like there's hope that he can play even with injury, but not counting on it.

Apparently McSorley was originally on the list as a close contact and then later tested positive, so not sure when exactly he's eligible to return.

Tyler Huntley, Eric Tomlinson, Sean Culkin, Trystan Colon-Castillo, RJ Prince/Jake Rodgers, Aaron Crawford, Aaron Adeoye/Chauncey Rivers, Davontae Harris, and Nick Moore all in line to potentially make their Ravens debuts tomorrow.

I can't wait for Nick Moore's debut.
Ol is still looking meh. I think Phillips will take over for Fluker if he's healthy/cleared to play.

Who'd have thought we'd be this interested in a backup long snapper?

i had no idea he looked like that

are we sure we didnt just clone Morgan Cox and tell the clone to dye his beard a bit less ginger?

also had no idea he's 27 lol - he's only 7 years younger than cox

I mean, just look at him out there with his eyes closed. So much confidence. He doesn't need to see to snap. And the pads? He's only putting them on because it's the rule. He don't need no pads.

I'm actually surprised a picture of him in a Ravens uniform exists.

I mean i get it , it’s no small undertaking to transform an NFL schedule. I just don’t understand the desire to remain so rigid by the NFL. If they don’t make strong compromises now they could end up looking foolish come playoff time. Imagine if the chiefs Qb room had broken protocols for a divisional round match up vs the Steelers. I highly doubt the NFL let’s a WR start at Qb. They’ll adjust the game week to week and look incredibly hypocritical.

I’m not the one spending my hard earned dollars , so it’s easy for me to arm chair this , but I’d like to see the NFL show some flexibility that makes sense for the fans and player safety.

I think they would. I think the only thing they can't or will do everything possible not to move is the SB.

So the playoffs have essentially no wiggle room. And they have zero wiggle room if week 18 takes away the week before the SB, which is what it will do.

If there's an outbreak during the playoffs, short of moving a game by a day or two, they'll move forward with it. Because the NFL already admitted they don't care one bit about competitive balance this season.

imagine if by some miracle that we win this game... id be surprised if we come within 7

Honestly, if we somehow win this game then who cares what happens the rest of the season. I've already accepted the fact that this team probably isn't doing anything if it happens to make the playoffs, but the salty tears of Steelers fans if we win this game would definitely redeem this season a bit.

Man I am right there with you, I want so badly to pull this upset because of all the shit they’ve talked since moving the game, I’ve never wanted a regular season game so badly, but at the same time I don’t even care if we lose lol
