Dennis Pitta - Designed Offense is 1 Read and Check Down

exactly. We had enough time to go down the field without taking the deep shot at that point, plus as you stated, we had players open in single coverage.

it was really a dumb decision and its just ridiculous that people keep blaming torrey for it.

Was listening to the ATN podcast earlier and they made a great point - literally the best teams remaining fighting for the AFC 6th seed are the chargers and the ravens... we are being gift wrapped a playoff berth here - if we don’t take it then the coaches really don’t deserve to stay

Initially, I had a rebuttal for all of this foolishness you keep spewing but once I saw your last statement I realized that there's no need.

YOU actually believe that Flacco has a "switch" that he turns on to become great in clutch games? A "switch" that he never seems to turn on in the regular season because he doesn't want to be great then. But Flacco waits until he makes the playoffs and then.....he turns on the "switch" that magically makes him become great in clutch games?

Aww man! I can't do this anymore......I can't.......I'm done....

Ill be honest I like the GiF but its still silly of you to deflect from the post by getting caught up in a word (I actually was specifically reading your posts as I made mine to make sure I paraphrased you accurately because I place a high value on the truth).

If you dont like the word switch then call it the "clutch gene" which is a term I have heard used before. Some players just always come through in the clutch moments and rise to the occasion and some do not. Did anyone not know that the Steelers were gonna win when Ben got that ball with 1 minute left last year? For all that we hate the Patriots does anyone not think that in the clutch Tom Brady elevates his play? Some players are at there best in the biggest moments and for better or worse Joe plays FAR differently in those moments then he does most of the time. Maybe he feels better holding it longer, maybe he is more focused in practice those weeks, I do not know but something happens before the big games that seem to make Joe play better during them and the fact that he plays better during them is not in dispute. It has happened far too often to not be relevant.

You can believe whatever you want, you can believe the earth is flat, but if you start saying there is evidence to support it and scientists who believe it I'm going to call those lies what they are.

Basically you can have your own opinion but not your own facts and history is based in facts. I can't say "Maybe SF won the SB in 2012" and have it to be an opinion, it's just wrong. First you multiple times tried to pretend 2014 was ancient history when we only had 2 seasons in between. Then you tried to add this one in despite us being the favorites to make the playoffs. Then you tried to pretend he didn't play well in 2014 when that is also provably untrue.

If you want to say Flacco doesn't have a switch he turns on to become great in clutch games that's fine and you are entitled to think that but you cannot pretend that it hasn't happened over and over because then we venture from opinion territory to false territory.
Wait the earth isn’t flat? A switch he turns on? Serious? He may be more competitive and yes has a history of playing better in the playoffs. He just plays better in these games, but it’s not a switch.

Lol, you serious?

This is the 3rd season in a row Flacco plays like shit. In what la-la land do you live if you believe he'll switch it on for the playoffs?

Playoffs??????? Playoffs???????????? We are fucking 4 and 5. We don't deserve to even mention the playoffs.
Ding ding ding ding ding ding. We have a winner

You can call it a switch, you can call him clutch, you could it potato mode for all it matters. When the moment is big he plays great. The problem is all the moments in between for some reason or another he looks average. I said it in my last post some players just rise to the occasion and some are great until that occasion happens and then they fold.

Also at 4-5 they are the favorites to take the 6 seed being only 1 game behind Buffalo and tiebreakers over the other 2 4-5 teams with Buffalo about to collapse so yes its fair to talk about playoffs.

In the past he has definitely risen to the occasion. Why he can’t do that during the season often doesn’t make any sense to me. He just doesn’t get up for the moment until playoffs.

This bye makes or breaks our season - our offence needs to have improved otherwise we are destined for 7-9/ a bad 8-8 but if our offence improves we could legit run the table

Well there seems to be a lot of scoffing and push back from the coaches especially Marty in his presser. Marty just shut up and coach the offense to be better than a college team before laughing your way out of a pickle.

I have low expectations this week if Stanley is out but after that things can hopefully turn a corner.

Does that 'clutch gene' you speak of that Joe supposedly possesses turn on only for 'clutch playoff' games? Because I am certain that they seem to be totally dark during regular season 'clutch moments' where he could win a game for us with 'clutch play'. So would you like to qualify the clutch gene to be a 'playoff clutch gene' instead?

These guys just can’t seem to stay on the field. How do you come out of a 2 week break without the starting LT that no one even knew was injured. UFR
