2022 General Draft Thoughts

LOVE what the draft board looks like on TDN after the latest updates. Values aren’t completely out of wack like they once were. And I’ve had some really fun mocks on there the past 2 days

Hamilton, Neal, Stingley Jr, and Ekwonu are worth a trade up for.
Agree with all but stingley. Hamilton would be worth a minor trade up but I don’t believe he comes close to being a minor move for us, I’d give a third for Hamilton no question. think I’d give a 3/4 to go get either of the OL

I didn’t know this was a thing. Sounds like NFL teams out of the top 5 trying to build a narrative for him to slide.. hopefully to pick 14.

If Thibodeaux inexplicably falls to 14 for no reason, it'll be the fastest #SIIE I've ever done in my life. And if EDC doesn't cartwheel his way to the podium to announce this pick, he has to be escorted from the Ravens' premises expeditiously.

quick.. someone offer my man a smoke out via bong mask. Record it and get ready to release it come draft day. #SIIE

1. Haloti ngata kinda did take plays off

2. I have been feeling for a while that thibodeaux is a sneaky faller who could end up in trade up range for us

and I certainly hope he doesn't hurt himself doing those cartwheels. We still have 8 more picks.

It'll be Suggs all over again (another elite edge rusher that fell to us for dumb reasons).

and the same as haloti too - fell because of "effort" complaints

i get that there's some risk involved with thibodeaux with some lower body stiffness and these supposed effort concerns (i will say that i did notice some inconsistent effort in 2021 but not so much in 2020 or before) - but guess what? if he falls, id be surprised if that didnt light a fire in him to go prove everyone wrong lol

he's level of explosion is just outrageous

And his speed to power rush is downright impressive. When he commits to it he bowls tf out of tackles, puts them right on their asses

yeah he's freaky - which is why i think it's ridiculous that he "might" slip - you dont turn down freaky prospects - it's why i'll similarly overlook some of travon walker's raw hand usage as a pass rusher

i think with thibodeaux, for me, it's the way he has the explosive get off but somehow seems to accelerate even quicker through his 2nd and 3rd steps - it doesnt matter so much if you're a little stiff if you're that quick to the corner and have the ability to counter back inside

just no way i see the Jets passing on him at 4 if he even makes it that far

i think the scariest thing about thibodeaux is that he can still get better with his hands

You pass on someone with a name like Thibodeaux, than you shouldn't be drafting.

Pff said that reporters around the league are saying that Ahmad Gardner is cb1 to a lot of teams.

I like this time of year because you start finding out that prospects you were super high on are much higher than the media was reporting earlier, and you also find out you may have been way off on a number of guys. Gardner to me looked like an absolute stud and he was showing up as a 20s pick consistently, but I felt like I saw a top ten pick kinda corner on film.

He ain't wrong. I think Willis has the highest upside and whether he reaches that or not depends on what organization he goes to and what development plan they put him on. Only guys I like even a bit after that are Corral and Pickett but I feel like they're more like a Ryan Fitzpatrick level type of starter than anything truly good.

the difficulty with the malik willis projection is that you're asking for a jump in accuracy and touch and reading in the same way that josh allen made those jumps from college too... but josh allen's development is borderline unprecedented historically so it's hard to plan for and expect the same kinds of progress from willis

for me i think you have to take a leap on the guys with the traits and the abilities to become top QBs who make you competitive - for me that's malik willis and sam howell out of the top 5 guys in this class...

i am surprised ive not seen more stuff in the media yet about howell rising up boards because i feel like a few teams will fall in love with his 2020 tape and the traits he has... and in 2021 he had a lot of practice honing some poise and pocket movement in that collapsing wreckage of a pocket he was in in 2021 with all his weapons drafted the year before
