Fire John Harbaugh Thread

I thought they should have fired him 3 years ago. A good coach with the teams he's had would have a minimum 3 SB appearances. Harblow it again.

our best chance is this offseason - the prospect of 4 years of Lamar Jackson to mould for cheap cap hits would be the best enticement this team can create for an offensive coach in a short period of time
Yes eat flaccos dead cap in 2019 and go all-in in 2020.

Well it looks like there will be a head coach opening in Cleveland. When Harbaugh gets fired, expect him to land in Cleveland.

Are we sure we want this. You do realize that he's coming after all of us when the organization let's him lose. It will start the Harbaugh Curse and we won't win a super bowl again for at least another 80 years

Well Harbaugh can go where he wants if we fire him . He almost got canned last year. He could easily land in Cleveland under a scenario
where we don’t make the playoffs again.

Unfortunately, this Cleveland firing actually increases the odds we keep Harbaugh for fear he goes to Cleveland!

On Harbaugh and teams who are contending, all good teams that are well coached with good personnel find ways to improve. It is concerning that we are always in this ebb and flow when it comes to the season. Vikings and Patriots both started kinda eh but have started to hit their stride. We need to improve because based on earlier games the talent is here to win and injuries are only a valid excuse for so long

I'm not in the Fire Harbaugh mix, but we definitely need to play better than the Panthers game. Besides that we have done well for most of the season.

Neither am I but I see both sides. I see valid reasons he’ll stay and valid reasons he’ll go. I don’t think it’s all on him and I would kinda like to see him without Joe

Except vs Bungles, Browns and Saints
Yeah but those teams are both good and Browns are divisional although that’s no excuse

tbf we played pretty well vs the Saints... we were involved in one of the games of the season against a potential superbowl team and lost by an xp
Yeah and a crazy miss at that. It’s easy to put that on Tucker but I’ve heard the improvements to the stadium have made some weird wind currents so eh whatever. We had so many chances to beat NO it’s crazy.

The Saints we lost to a better team and for the most part played pretty well. The Bengals we basically lost due to CJ going down with an injury.
Saints played well and look like legit Super Bowl contenders. No shame losing to them but I miss the days we beat those teams.

Harbaugh will probably not get fired now even if we don’t make the playoffs because he would be a top candidate for the now open Browns job.
Biscotti is not gonna let him go to the Browns .
I do feel Harbaugh has gone as far as he will go
with the Ravens so we have a dilemma here .

I'm just gonna say it again.

Words cannot describe how pissed I am with Harbaugh right now. Ozzie goes out and has a near-perfect offseason across the board. Filling the majority of the needs. He neglected the oline, sure, but on paper it looked far upgraded from last year's over-achieving unit(btw @RavensMania I told you it wouldn't work this year. I told you it overachieved and success would not replicate. I should've listen to my gut). WR corps? Fixed. Depth across the board? Stellar. QB of the future? Obtained? Tons of cap room coming off the books in 2019 and beyond? Oh yes. "But we have so many holes". We will have gobs of money to throw at our problems within the next couple of seasons so long as we don't screw this up in the offseason by overpaying certain players that don't deserve it(no, not referring to CJ. This injury riddled season might actually help us. Looking at you Za'Darius. Harbaugh better not pull a James Hurst here).

Assuming Harbaugh isn't fired, we have a plethora of issues. The sad thing is that the talent isn't whats holding the team back in any department except for the offensive line and outside of Yanda's age the near future looks solid there with Brown looking like a promising future starter, and Bozeman looking like a potential starter down the line as well. So it could be much worse. Sure, we have the part of the fanbase who is like "that's unacceptable" at every step of the way but is it as bad as some members make it out to be? Probably not. But until Harbaugh is gone, it is no matter if we make the postseason(Which I still think is a possibility).

Firstly, Harbaugh's loyalty to his friends. He let Cam Cameron stay way too long despite horribly misusing the personel given to him(sending Boldin on Fades is notable). Dean Pees is proving to be the problem by virtue of not being here either. Marty is the current bane of the team. Sure, the run game is porous, but he abandons it far too quickly, really does not utilize the personel to it's strengths as often as he does, seldom attacks mismatches. He's had a couple good moments, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut. This is no different. Ty Montgomery is a good addition to the team, and if we had an OC who knew how to properly execute RB screens it'd be fine. Pundits will look to Flacco but honestly, he looks like he's back to his old self, for better or worse. Flacco has his moments of brilliance, but also sheer ineptitude where he looks lost. It's always been this way, and this won us a ring because if he's on fire, he's borderline impossible to stop. His porous play cost us the Panthers game more than anything, but anyone accusing him of being the problem is missing the point. "But for the sake of continuity keeping Marty is the right move"...

Fuck continuity. We need to win games, something Marty is clearly incapable of doing. The situational football is porous, he misuses the talent(seriously, John Brown should be living over the middle far more often than we use him there, and we should have gotten Hayden Hurst into the game plan more to help attack the seam. Andrews should be starting full time, and Collins should be used a lot more in the passing game since he can actually make plays after the catch). This offense shines at times because there have been games where Joe is simply on fire, and given that he actually has talent around him this year, he can make it work.

Let's not get into the countless idiotic timeouts, challenges, and his vaunted doghouse that will likely turn Tyus Bowser into Paul Kruger 2.0. Bowser is the latest addition to the dog house which makes no sense to me as it's not his fault that he's utterly useless as a pass rusher. It's a prime example of us doing what we've always done with young talent under Harbaugh: trying to fit square pegs in round holes(let's go through the very long list of guys who develop into good players here the final year of their contracts only to be never seen again from us because they are on the receiving end of a massive pay day. They could have been far more useful earlier in their careers but hey, what do I know. Paul Kruger, Pernell McPhee, Jimmy Smith didn't play until year three, Dennis Pitta wasn't the starting TE until midway through 2011, KO wasn't played at his natural position for some reason, Malon Humphrey was clearly a superior player to Carr, did nothing. Kenny Young is way better than Peanut, still not taking any snaps. Bowser should be a SAM linebacker who could solve our TE problems. Nothing there either). It's not willing to play rookies when it is obviously the better option because "experience". And don't give the me "Hurst is good in pass protection. That move has worked fine." That's not valid either. Brown Jr. Looks like an NFL starter and one who could develop into a really good one. But he has to see the field. That idiotic decision likely has cost us the chance at a running game.

Yup. As good as Wink has been, we should've hired Teryl Austin or something to be the HC. Keep Roman as OC, hell, the players like Wink so you could put him as a DC to help Austin delegate and have the players voices be heard by the coaches, something that Harbaugh clearly doesn't let happen right now.

It's insane. Literally all of them team's problems right now could be solved. Porous blocking on the oline in the run game? Why not start the rookie RT you drafted who happens to be a mauler, and put Hurst back at his true position at G. Maybe put Bozeman at C. He is absolutely dismal in pass protection thus far, but he's a beast in the run game which opens up the play action and with how quick we've been getting the ball out, it helps overall. Woes covering the TEs across the middle of the field? How about you play Kenny Young and Tyus Bowser in more 4-3 looks which would take Mosely out of coverage more(thus allowing him to actually play to his strengths). Also putting significant amounts of speed on the field which helps with blitzing and disguising blitzers. Boom. The two biggest holes on the team, solved. And we didn't even have to lift a finger.

You solve those two problems and when Flacco does have his off days, you just lean on the run game and let the defense do it's thing. Ozzie should give us one last present before he leaves. We have a cancer on the team, cut it out and get a new HC and OC. You can keep the rest of the staff, hell keep the rest of the team too, to me they've proven they're not the problem.

It's absolutely mind boggling. The team obviously has more holes than what I've listed but half of these problems are such easy fixes and we don't have to do anything about it. Wink gets the benefit of the doubt with the defense, he's still new and learning. For Harbaugh there's no excuse. We lose both of the next two games, he's gone and good riddance.

what's frustrating about marty is that we often seem to have really strong first drives (i.e. where the plays have been scripted) and really strong 2 minute drills (where we're ironically one of the top teams in the nfl at the end of halves this year)

that suggests to me that marty's gameplans are fine but his in-game playcalling sucks
our offence seems to be at its most effective when we have pre-planned the calls and therefore have practiced them or when joe is more in charge in the no huddle/hurry up

that's pretty damning

Say what we want about Harbaugh but these players go out and play for him every week. We are always there at the end of the year with a chance to make the playoffs. The consistent inconsistencies is what has kept us from the playoffs, it has always come down to losing games we shouldn't lose.

Yet despite all.of his flaws, our players go out and try to win every week. If we ever got to the point of the Raiders tonight where the team quit on Gruden, then his firing would be imminent. I just don't see that happening, the only thing I know is its either going to come down to losing to the Browns or that missed XP is why we are fighting to get into the playoffs in week 17.
