2018 State of the Ravens: Bisciotti Solo Edition (2/2/18)

interesting that it's not been picked up on much yet but subtly bisciotti put harbs on notice by emphasising he decided to keep him this year

Like I predicted. Business politics. Not going to blatantly call him out but he is going to say that he is underperforming. He is not throwing Harbaugh under the bus but putting him on notice

Bisciotti acknowledges the loss of senior scouts has hurt the Ravens and "is always indicative of [past] success."

Bisciotti said team has erred in not replacing some of the scouts that they've lost and instead trying to replace them with internal promotions of young scouts.

Bisciotti: "We have not done a very good job of filling in senior people with senior people. We can't wait for 25 years old to get as good as [former scout] Joe Douglas is at 36."

Bisciotti also says he feels like team has gotten "too many opinions" on early round. Said team has "over analyzed" early draft picks.

He also mentioned how they've had some gems in later rounds and that they have to get better at dealing with the early selections

Steve reacting very strangely to the comment about how we scored big at the 2nd half of the season because we played bad teams.

Damn it souns like Steve is firing away without the guys there. He's always been honest but wow

Ozzie in my opinion has suffered from two massive problems since 2012.

1. Too many cooks, one kitchen. Decosta has been running the draft for a few years now. Since 2014 I believe, and 3 of those drafts look good with one looking like a DISASTER in 2015. Makes me wonder if he and Decosta occasionally butted heads in the war room.
2. You knew this was coming. Bias. We have drafted 5 Alabama Players and 2 Michigan players in the past 8 years. Two of those players have been horrible, one has been very good, one looks like he's going to be a good player, and then the others are total unknowns. Not gonna lie. I'm sick this. For those who say that "Ozzie's Alabama bias plays no role". Really? Despite character concerns from Cam Robinson and the fact that his tape was TERRIBLE we were still considering him. I can personally guarentee you that if we had the options between Marshon Lattimore and Marlon Humphrey last draft we would have taken Marlon because Alabama. His Bama bias is apperant and obvious. It makes us predictable come draft day which likely contributes to the fact why NO ONE wants to trade back with us. Even in 2014 where we took CJ Mosley, a damn good player, we passed him up for not only a superior prospect in Brandin Cooks, but that was also a much larger position of need. Sorry, I'm not going to miss this.

Ozzie's had a hell of a career and nobody can take away that legacy from him.. But I do believe that blatant Alabama bias does make us predictable on draft day. We can't have that anymore.

interesting snippet - bisciotti said that the ravens have a policy against nepotism which i imagine might have played a part in his retirement and why the titans may have been the perfect option to come out of retirement

"I'll have to call some coaches and ask if they're scared of me. That's just silly." hahahahahaha That guy got owned.

haha bisciotti absolutely rinsed one of the reporters for asking a question about the ravens being at a crossroads...
he dug that guy a grave to jump into...

Bisciotti: "Ozzie's decision was made four years ago. Eric knew it. He just wanted to make sure that the deal was still there when the Packers called." Packers had interest in DeCosta for opening GM job.

christ that was a close one

and he rinsed another reporter...
if any of you get the chance, absolutely watch this presser start to finish

They should have a presser with just Steve every year.

i like hearing eric and ozzie talk too but steve is absolutely lit when the reporters dont get a break from him

he's dealing with the reporters like they're the new york media and they just dont know how to handle it
