I will say... a lot more guys fell than what I thought. I know the 3rd round is typically when you start seeing the board disparity across the league but it started earlier and with more rigor than I had anticipated.

i was looking at my board and still seeing lots of unpicked players on the left side (top 80 or so), but also not many outliers beyond travis jones (who we took) and demarvin leal (who the steelers took) - at that point the grades kind of flattened out and it made not much sense to me to give up picks when guys with equivalent grades were going to fall out of day 2 completely

BPA baby!
just get good players and sort the needs out before/after - while im not in love with the free agent market, it's not like there arent potential stop-gaps out there if we need them - can't rely on 4th round picks to fill needs given that statistically only 20% of them are likely to even contribute, let alone start...

luckily for us, with the depth of this EDGE class and the way the board is stacked right now at OT and CB and RB, I think we should be able to get a shot at guys at some of those positions
And I'd say I'm not pressed for some of those positions either.

WR, TE, OT, DT, and ILB I can all take or leave to some extent. The board lines up well for TE, OT, and/or ILB at some point today potentially. Not as much for DT (sans Winfrey) and WR.

We'll I agree but I thought McCollum singularly was way overdue. He's like 40 picks overdue for you! Hahaha. He would have been my only guy but so far patience has worked out.

ive seen others talk about him being an early day 3 guy - i think he's more developed than maybe he's given credit for (which is why he's so high on my board) but if teams think he needs a bit more seasoning then early day 3 makes a ton of sense

im not shocked he fell out of day 2 but i wouldnt have let him personally

What's up with the LSU ILB? Injured?

spinal injury that showed up at the combine medical checks - got surgery on it and is expected to fully recover - but he's guaranteed to miss the whole of his rookie year and that inevitably was going to drop his value to day 3 somewhere

how comfortable teams are with the injury will determine whether he comes off the board somewhat early on day 3 or whether he goes completely undrafted (which would absolutely suck... dude's a 2nd rounder on tape)

ive still got a bunch of DTs but i dont think they're BPA yet but we're definitely entering the range where id be good picking them (Matthew Butler, John Ridgeway III, Eric Johnson, Kalia Davis)

and I think RB is possibly the most loaded position on day 3 right now...

I would be floored if we don't walk out of round 4 with a RB and at least one CB. Those two positions are stacked really well for us.

THIS IS NOT A LAMAR CONTROVERSY QUESTION. Would anyone be shocked if we took the UNC QB in the 4th round?
Not that worst thing in the world for Huntley to have some competition

Okay would be wild just because we already got the first 2.
