I didn't dig deep on him at all so can't say one way or another whether he's actually good, but he's the only one of the bunch so far that some respected people had at least as somewhat draftable.

which i find a little strange if we're trying to find guys who we think will actually stick - maybe polk can play some special teams but the other 2 guys dont project to so these guys are gonna have to dominate the offseason to have a chance of making the roster because they can't afford to be WR5/6 if they don't play special teams

he's the youngest WR in this class
was there something going on at mississippi state that meant he felt like he had to declare? he was only there 1 year...
why wouldnt you go another year (or even 2) and try and get yourself drafted higher
brugler had him as a 5th-6th round grade
- limited route-tree
- no breakaway speed
- lacks some play-strength vs press
but...
- excellent at the catch-point
- has great initial acceleration and some quick feet at the breakpoint
- great ball-tracking and body adjustments
with the mediocre testing i can see why he wasnt drafted but he's the only guy ive come across so far who has a profile that makes me think they've got half a chance of making the roster as a WR

Sounds like the Justyn Ross stuff is more than I thought. Reports that he failed his physical at the combine and teams just aren't comfortable touching him. Risk for him is incredibly high and teams don't want to be responsible. Notably, he did not have one visit during the pre-draft cycle. He's the prime candidate to check on for injury reasons, and the fact that didn't happen is damning.

i wondered - might be a zach orr type situation where he wants to take the risk but no team can responsibly (or liability-wise) take on that risk themselves
wild that he didnt end up in tampa or new england
but he may well be a special teams contributor which will help his chances
not sure he moves the needle beyond the name and the school though tbh - doesnt create his own space vs man and has no vertical threat - but works well in the underneath areas of the field especially out of the slot in zone
doesnt have a completely dissimilar to james proche actually - but proche was a demon at the catch-point and has the dawg in him in contact situations
another tall slow WR
just checked Dane Brugler's Beast to see if he had these guys... am impressed to say he did...
he has Shemar as the 176th best WR in this class lol

I do like Machai Polk. Not surprised he went UDFA but he jumped off the tape at Miss State. Prefer him as a Big slot because he doesn't have the juice to separate downfield but he's a nice lanky route runner.
