WR has to be priority #1 in the draft this year with CB close behind. If we take one position in the first, I'd like to double dip at the other in rounds 3 & 4.
I suspect WR, DB, and RB will be the top three priorities in the offseason, depending on what shakes out and who gets cut. Honestly can't see that changing much, unless they decide to like gut the Oline for some reason. Powers could walk in FA, and Moses is probably 50/50 to return. Even then, you've still got guys like Mekari, Cleveland, etc. on the roster, and you can probably find a starting-caliber Guard in the mid rounds.
The biggest "problem" I'd say is the lack of a 2nd round pick. There's a decent contingent of the "analytics" crowd that studies draft strategy that basically suggests top 65-70 is the sweet spot for drafting a WR, i.e. if you want a really good one, you've gotta get one in the first two rounds. I've not reviewed this to see if its true, but there's a prevailing thought in the draft industry that the WR talent, in most drafts, falls off considerably. I'd argue that's probably true of most positions, but WR seems to be especially the case.
As such, that would pigeon-hole the Ravens into adding a WR in the first, which I don't think they'll ever do that to themselves. Its possible they end up taking one there, but I don't think they'll ever go into the draft thinking they have to do that.
Moreover, in my opinion, if you want a truly great Corner, I think round 1 is the place to be for that. I think its a stretch to think they'll get a solid Corner on late day 2 or day 3, and especially if you need them to play early.
I hope to be proven wrong, but I have a suspicion that 2023 might be a "rough year" for our Cornerback group.
