Lamar Jackson

Nice hype piece on our boy, Llama

for best QB in the league?
dont be ridiculous
If the argument is best QB in football then we can just give Mahomes the title and the next 10 MVPs along with it, and skip the voting because he is the best, and will continue to be so for likely the best decade and that gap will continue to exist unless some new player comes in the league and can reach that level.

However, if the debate for best QB this year, and of course MVP is how it has traditionally been, aka which QB is having the best year, then yes you have to include Tua in that conversation along with Lamar and Mahomes. Yes both Lamar and Tua have FAR more talent than Mahomes is playing with, TK an average online and some scrubs at WR and RB to throw the ball to,but being able to take advantage of that should count. It probably is a short conversation because you go “Mahomes is performing the same with less talent, next topic” but I would put Tua in the conversation.

Honestly the more interesting conversation is who is the second best QB. With Burrow hobbled, Hurts looking like a one-hit wonder, and Allen still woefully inconsistent, that opens up that second best spot where just about any of the top 10 QBs you could argue for that spot and I would think it a valid argument.

For this season alone, Tua has been the best QB in the league. It's not really that close either.
#1 in comp %, #2 in TD%, #1 in YPA, #2 in YPC, #1 in Passer Rating, #4 in QBR.
His INT rates are higher than I would like, but they're also on-par with guys like Mahomes and better than Josh Allen's.

Even if you add in Lamar's rushing stats to the equate, Tua still has more yards, more TDs and less turnovers.

McGuinness also noted that Jackson is making more "big-time throws" this season than he did in 2019.

"Over 16 games in 2019, PFF said Jackson had 20 big-time throws, which McGuinness said have a high value and high degree of difficulty, typically aimed downfield or into a tight window," Shaffer wrote. "In seven games this season, Jackson has 14 big-time throws. His big-time-throw rate is 6.5%, fourth in the NFL among regular starters and by far a career high. Jackson also doesn't have what PFF considers a 'turnover-worthy play' on his 68 passes of at least 10 air yards this season, according to McGuinness. He had nine such throws in his MVP season."

I never rate any guys “ best this season”. Nothing wrong with it but its not reality for me cause no matter how good certain guys play, you arent taking them over those guys who are consistently good every year. i dnt even think about tua when naming the top qbs, idc how good he plays. He dont really do anything amazing besides throw slants and deep balls to wide open tyreke and waddle

almost like he's playing college ball down there in Miami. Credit McDonald.

Lamar and Tua have FAR more talent than Mahomes is playing with,
Far more is insane, Didnt the chiefs have a top 2 o line last year, lets not act like this receiving core isnt mediocre its just upgraded, aghlor is the ravens 1st or 2nd best wr and he was wr3 on the pats last year, mahomes has the best coach and the greatest tight end
