Lamar Jackson

I think your thoughts are much, much more speculative than the reports. lol

The posts from Sarah are probably some of the most trustworthy, she generally doesn’t put BS out there.
Her posts are saying that "a journalist has said X". She's not reporting it herself or vouching for its veracity - she's passing it on.

It feels accurate that Lamar wants more than Watson, but I've not seen any good source saying that no team wants to trade and pay for Lamar.

Y’all think Lamar’s goal here is bigger than himself? Y’all think he’s trying to be the guy that changes how players are compensated? Maybe he thinks he’s the guy who can change the game by following up the contract that owners swear is an aberration with another fully guaranteed deal making it a trend that can’t be dismissed, pushing the nfl closer towards guaranteed deals. If it goes watson>Lamar>burrow 3 years in a row then the game done changed, I don’t think Lamar is gonna relent. According to reports every single contract offer was countered by Lamar just saying fully guaranteed or no deal, idk how true it is but this is being reported by Bobby trosset and Sarah Ellison who are t exactly clickbaiters and kneejerkers

Lol Bobby trosset is the biggest knee-jerker lol

And I don't. A bunch of picks and a bunch of money isn't the same thing as $230M gtd over five years. Seems pretty clear nobody else was willing to come close to that.
If they were, he'd probably be playing elsewhere, since he told the Browns they were out 48 hours before signing there.

Can't say its not an outlier until its actually not an outlier.
The Browns upped their offer because he, understandably, didn't want to go to Cleveland. Just because other teams didn't want to suddenly go that high last year, for Watson with all the stigma attached, doesn't mean no-one will go there for a much cleaner and better player.

There are almost no credible national reporters or pundits saying Lamar won't get what he wants. That narrative seems entirely contained within the Baltimore bubble fed on wishful thinking and fans being defensive of the organization.

Well, yeah. 90% of what is out there is someone “passing it along”. The point remains I don’t think she would post it if she didn’t think it had a good chance of being valid.

Stephen A smith just said on air that Lamar’s camp reached out to him yesterday and said Lamar never asked for a fully guaranteed contract..

Ravens stopped at 133 milly.

Also said Lamar had no input on Monken.

Really? Do we believe that someone on Lamar's side opened up?

If so, then it's good news
I believe Steven A is full of it and simply making up a story to get views and clicks

Apparently we are roughly 20 million away from making a deal

I don't think it's a big deal that Lamar did or did not have input at the OC position. That's the Ravens job to find the best fit, not his

There really isn't any reason to have him in the OC search. He might not even be around and you're looking for a someone who should get the most out of your pieces... whoever is at qb.

I think you consult him a bit just to see what he thinks, but that is about it. If you can't figure out which OC is going to do well and what vision you have then you probably should not be a HC

Seems much more likely Lamar is simply a pawn in the NFLPAs agenda. Which is unfortunate because they don’t care about the game or the fans. They just want to get a “win” vs the owners.

This is probably true, and it sucks for everyone. It set up perfectly for them, a quality player without an agent up for his first vet contract.

But we're supposed to believe these other "leaks" and reports?
Idk who to believe , but I know it’s not a guy who gets paid to yell at people on tv and sensationalize everything for entertainment purposes.

I think we are seeing a pattern in who’s leaking information as more trusted local sources put out information.

Sure, doesn't mean they will either. Lamar isn't this unflappable player who comes with no baggage or concerns and has a long track record of postseason success. Everybody knows what they're getting and what they're not getting.

There's also no credible national reports or pundits saying Lamar will get what he wants. They're saying he SHOULD ask for it, not that he will get it. Because they have no clue. Just like I don't. Just like you don't. You've got a bunch of people saying he should get the Watson deal, and a bunch saying he shouldn't. Not heard a single one produce a researched report saying that other teams have said they'll go to that contract for that player. Because its not something anybody would ever say, nor do I think they would do.

Literally the only baseline for even suggesting that other teams will give Lamar that contract is "because the Browns did it". That's the absolute maximum line anybody can draw in terms of speculating on what other teams will do.

Especially on DeMaurice Smith way out. He wants his name attached to this victory.

don't remember if it's true but this is the same FO who allegedly wasn't going to sign Flacco over 1 mil and ended up getting bent over when the time came to pay him.

Somebody is lying on the contract. I just don’t know who. Lamar has either asked for a fully guaranteed contract or he hasn’t .

This is all going to end badly.
