The 2023 Offseason Thread

The AFC right now in my opinion goes Chiefs, Bengals, Bills, Ravens, and Jaguars. You could potentially slot in the Chargers at 5, but that team just has some real issues winning big games.
I know i shouldnt be counting mahommes out but man i cant see it happening for them this year.

With the second half of last season and that playoff win over the Chargers it just feels like the Jaguars are on a major rise. Pederson is getting them to fight hard as a team, Lawrence is looking like a high tier quarterback he was drafted to be, and they're getting Calvin Ridley added to that offense next year. They just feel like the Ravens have in the past, a group playing as a complete team, and hitting above their weight class.
I forgot they got ridley now. Yea them boys are gonna be tough.

Jags at 5, that’s interesting. The easy choice is chargers , but they are hard to read. The Dolphins should be in the mix as well. If Tua stays healthy, I like them over both Jags and Chargers. I know we got some serious Tua haters on here, but his weapons are to legit
Yeah, I'm not certain about the Jags, Dolphins, Jets, Chargers, or us. I think there are a number of teams like this that should be in the top 5, but the Jags, Jets, and Dolphins are gonna need to prove it. They always seems to make progress and then flop again. The Chargers and Ravens are pretty steady, so I'd still have them higher than those three triers... Who knows? We need to have a season where there are no significant injuries. We haven't seen that team since 2019.

We still need someone on the DLine. I wonder if they're waiting for a late drop or trying to make a trade. I can't imagine they are particularly comfortable with what we have minus Campbell.

Probably would help if they get better, provide some regular season competition to the Chiefs. Chiefs have had it kinda easy in the division the past few years, not as easy as the pats had it all those years, but still not too tough with the broncs, raiders and bolts.

The Chargers are hard to get a focus on. Sometimes they look terrific and then other times just very average. If they manage to be consistent - and that's what I have a hard time putting a finger on, why they aren't - they could be trouble for everyone. But I'm not sold until I see it. The Chiefs, otoh, are a team I just accept are going to be very good until they show they aren't, which I haven't seen yet. So I expect them to be the top team again. The Bungles - I'm just waiting for the implosion. But that's just history talking. lol.

The AFC West just reminds me of all of those cake walk seasons the pats had during those years they always had home field throughout the tournament. Not quite as bad of competition, but you get my drift.

Bengals are so lucky we’ve gotten decimated by injuries and they haven’t for two years in a row. They are overrated and will start 0-2 again, this time they’ll stay down.

I can not wait until the season starts. Lamar Jackson without Greg Roman is going to be a thing of beauty.

Great to see a Bengal heaping so much praise on Lamar. I always liked Orlando.

Also interesting to see a former O lineman criticize Romanball. In the declining days of the Roman empire, when it was clear that Lamar and the WRs at minimum, were done with his system, we were told by Roman's legionaries that the O line were loving the system. Maybe they didn't?

I think there's about 8 or 9 AFC teams that have a legitimate chance of the Super Bowl, depending on how things come together and how healthy they are.

Between the Chiefs, Bengals, Bills, Ravens, Dolphins, Jets, Jags and Chargers (in that order probably) it could come down to little things like missed field goals and facing a back-up QB in Wk 12 to determine playoff seeding and home games. And in the post season, every single one of them might be capable of beating the others.

Even Cleveland could be in that group if Creepy starts playing like his old self - because the rest of their roster is loaded.

Of course, a couple of those teams will collapse spectacularly, but it's still a killer playoff schedule. It will be the luckiest team that comes through that gauntlet to make the Superbowl.

And of course, injuries
