Next Up: Vs. Broncos

For me the key is to show that we can WIN vs good teams even if we're missing a piece or two. That's the sign of a team that's turned a corner.
I feel you, but there’s a difference between missing A piece and missing THE piece.

We are missing A piece with Willie Henry out, that’s a big part of our interior. You don’t see anyone making excuses for that. But missing CJ is a completely different animal, especially when there’s 0 depth behind him and we weren’t able to prepare for his absence. Losing the QB of the defense is tough to overcome.

Don’t get me wrong, giving up those 4 touchdowns that quickly is simply inexcusable. But I believe if we would’ve had a week to prepare for Mosley’s absence the outcome would’ve been different.

If one would follow any team closely watching every play of every game you would quickly learn that to a point all teams are inconsistent, have good players that make bad plays and sometimes have bad games. What separates the winners and losers is being able to win even when you are not at your best.
Good point. Pittsburgh is especially inconsistent against teams they should be. The only team who really has been a model of consistency in the past 5-10 years are the Patriots. That's really it.

We’ve officially signed Albert McClellan. This means a few things. CJ is going to be out for at least this week probably a few weeks at least.

And we are content with bringing in a guy who knows the playbook rather than bringing in some other LBs for tryouts who might be better..

I am not really happy with the current lack of run game we have had in the last 2 games. I felt that this was something that was already addressed.

Collins looks mean when we give him the ball, would be nice to set up PA and take pressure off of the O-Line.

As for our defense, not sure who the genius was that assigned Peanut to call plays since we have proof that the players were confused. If Weddle has the helmet on then we will be ok all around.

Tim Williams should be on the field and try to create some pressure with Bowser. And can someone talk to Judon and get him focused?

I definitely agree but all of that goes without saying. In competition there will always be ups and down, good performances and bad performances. That's the nature of competition. The issue for me is that I follow the Ravens....to hell with other teams (lol) and what's pissing me off about the Ravens is that we're only 2 games into the new season and I'm already seeing the demons of a few short seasons past (i.e. sluggish offense, staled offense, QB tossing boneheaded picks, no running game, no defensive pass rush etc.) raise its ugly head with our team! I can't trust stuff like that. I'm not wired that way! I need to see them do differently!

GO RAVENS!!
I’m curious, when we won super bowl 47, did you consider that a breakout?????

One way or another I'm just disappointed we don't give Collins more touches period. Just give him the rock

we've never won 5 in a row under harbaugh and more importantly we've lost that comeback ability which we had during the Ray and Ed era before harbaugh took over the team.

Now would be a good time to prove that we're not what all of us pretty much deep down feel. The same old team since the SB.
Maybe that’s true, but we have won 4 in a row and one of those times it culminated in a super bowl win.

Not many teams have been consistent over the years and I believe someone on these boards said pretty much that the only team that is consistent is the Patriots. The Steelers are far from a model of consistency and if you want to talk about playing down to the level of competition, look know further then them @Lost_In_Translation. They are the worst and are also habitually bad at playing away from home. Btw, when was the last time they won a super bowl. You don’t need to answer, I already know.

Sure we have missed the playoffs the last three yrs. however two of those yrs we remained competitive and just missed the playoffs. Only one season under Harbaugh have we won less than 8 wins in 10 yrs.

Times are changing and things are looking up, even with a bad game vs, the Bengals. Is it too early to say that, yes maybe it is, but even in a loss against a division opponent, there were some positives to take out of that game.

If we lose vs the broncos I can safley say we are not making the playoffs. We cannot afford to go 1-4 and if we lose vs the broncos there is a very very strong possibilty of that.

yeah its crazy that collins and allen are getting the same number of snaps as each other - collins should clearly be getting more snaps and touches - id love to see collins stay on the field on 3rd down (or come back on the field) because if the running game isnt going like it could then get collins the ball in space and basically turn it into an extension of the running game to get one of our most dynamic players the ball with opportunities

If Judon goes missing again in this game I'd bench him or make him inactive. I've developed quite a distaste for his whole attitude. Bark if you actually can show something.

barring anymore injuries ( hahah pigs will fly first) i think it will be the titans game when you see our real team out there.
I hope it's not too late by then. I just have a bad feeling that we'll be abused with screens and with the weak coverage in the short passing game.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a 40-60 split between Allen and Collins. Allen is a damn good receiving back who can also pass block very well. He's also the ideal guy in goal line situations and he takes much better care of the Football then Collins. I really don't even see anything wrong with last weeks split but the team should definitely heavily utilize both. They're a really good duo who are being short handed due to poor run blocking from the OL.

allen is an ok receiving back - he's sure handed and gets what he gets but he's not a threat out of the backfield and offers nothing really split wide or out of the slot - he's gonna get what's thrown to him and not much more - 7 catches is nice vs the bengals but 5 catches for 36 yards is not particularly explosive - the defence will allow that all day...

collins had 3 receptions for 55 yards...

he needs more touches

allen is an ideal 2nd down back - he's a threat to catch or run the ball inside and take exactly what the defence will give him and certainly he's decent in short yardage and has a knack for running down the clock late in games
