I’m not going to worry about Lamar playing against KC until he beats ATL. With that said, the games KC lost have been decided by a few points and they were high scoring games but many of their games were high scoring. Their lowest scoring game was actually at home vs the Cardinals of all teams and the Chiefs scored 26. I don’t think it’s likely we beat them but the Chiefs aren’t unbeatable
Personally I have felt the chiefs are overrated this whole year. They’re a high flying offense, it will simmer down at some point, it almost always does, and when they face really good defenses and they can’t score at will, their defense will start to show why you at least need balance. The rams defense isn’t even very good and they had mahomes rattled, he had all those opportunities and had to keep up and began making mistakes, imagine what he does facing an actual good defense(potentially best in the league) and a clock grinding offense who only gives him 10-12 opportunities to score. When we play the chiefs, we gotta burn clock, score, and NEVER give them free points or free possessions. I honestly believe our defense can choke them out over the course of a game if our offense gives them few opportunities

No wonder you get pissed off and so disappointed during the game(s)

im not sure what would stop them on offence honestly... the rams outlasted them and had 2 ints to finish the game or the chiefs were winning that game - there's just no stopping that offence with the weapons they have everywhere:

Tyreek Hill (Brees himself said Hill is the most dangerous player in the NFL)
Travis Kelce (the best move tight end in the league)
Kareem Hunt (last year's rushing leader as a rookie and an all-purpose physical weapon)
Sammy Watkins (a number 1 receiver on most teams and he might be the 4th option on this chiefs offence)

you cant double everyone

on top of that their defence is improving - their front 4 is looking pretty great at this point with Houston, Jones and Dee Ford getting real penetration and Eric Berry has just started practicing

im not sure i see any of the top 3 offences being slowed down by anything except injuries (and maybe not even then)

Berry is most likely back for our game. Their defense isn't as bad as people make it out to be, for the type of team they have. I'd say Donald was the deciding factor more than rattling Mahomes. Our defense is going to STRUGGLE against them in Arrowhead. We can try to limit possessions, but if the defense doesn't hold, which I don't think they will, it won't mean a damn thing. They can score in an instant. If the pass rush doesn't show up, this game will most likely be a laugher at half time.

yeah if we cant move mahomes off his spot its gonna be a long and impossible day for the linebackers and dbs in coverage

I’m not saying you can stop them, I’m saying if you keep the pressure on them to try to score every time by limiting their opportunities, shut down the run and make them 1 dimensional, and you’re fielding a good defense, you have a chance to get them off the field enough to keep it close and have a chance to finish them off at the end.

I don’t think we beat them, let me just make that abundantly clear lol, I’m saying that if any formula can work, it’s the one where they don’t get goddamn 16+ possessions to run up the score, and were going 3 and out and burning a total of 45 seconds before punting over and over.

The absolute most any team can score is equal to the number of their possessions, the odds of that happening even to the greatest offense of all time is extremely slim. If they have as many possessions as the bengals had(12) and we allow them to reach the endzone a third of that, that’s 28 points. If our run game is hot, and we aren’t turning the ball over, and our defense actually gets off the bus, I don’t see that as impossible or even unreasonable. Another massive win in the TOP column, cut out the damn turnovers, and play 4 quarters on defense and we DO have a shot. Long list of ifs, but we had a longer list of ifs for a lot of games we’ve won before.

the problem is that unless you create turnovers they get the same number of possessions as you - and you better be scoring TDs on your long drives because they will be - the only way the gameplan works (and i agree with you that limiting the overall possessions is that right idea) is if you convert in the redzone

anyway - my response was more about your comment about them being overrated and that it wont last - i think its incredibly sustainable and unless a team shortens the game like i hope we try to do that there's no team in the AFC that can keep up with them - their defence only needs to steal 1 possession or get a couple of stops in a game to create a blowout situation

Long clock grinding drives will wear down opposing defenses and can cool off an offense by keeping them on the bench for long periods. And you know what is not good for an offense that has been sitting a while on the bench? The answer - facing a well rested defense.

we 100% cant beat saints nor rams in playoffs. They would out play us and out coach us.
IF and it’s a big if we make it to the playoffs, We won’t have to play either in the playoffs, unless we somehow become an NFC team prior to the postseason.

I dnt think Kc is overrated. They may not make SB but i dnt think theyre overrated. I wouldnt be surprised if we beat them though cause winning in playoffs vs reg season is much different..this season AFC playoffs probably gonna be one of the best in a long time and id love to see lamar in it

Well, the Cowboys just beat the Saints in a low scoring game by using a strong defense and a great running game. So yes, you can ground a high flying team with the right plan and personnel.

Yep they looked good. It makes me wish even more we got Byron Jones in that draft instead of Perriman; but regardless no changing that now. I definitely think we can win this game by keeping the ball out of Ryan’s hands and running the ball using Lamar and Edwards and Montgomery. We have the personnel to beat them and win this game and the disparity isn’t that big between these two teams for good and for bad—meaning ATL could easily blow us out just as easily as we could surprise and do the same. This is a huge game though make no mistake about it.

To put it simply, I like our potential to win this game considering our style of play, what I don’t like is our odds of executing the game plan required to beat them on the road.

I am worried about lamar trying to force passes in the middle, squeezing through underneath defenders and being off the mark, you CANT do that vs the falcons.

Lamar has to do what he does best, not worry about proving he’s a pocket passer, if you see that field break open take the yards and don’t think twice, don’t always count on the routes to open up, if you have a 10+ yard gain with your legs staring you in the face you take it. A single turnover could lose this game. Our defense has their hands full this week and putting them on the field more often will hurt badly. Don’t force throws lamar, and take the yards with your legs when they’re available.

Have to keep Matt Ryan off the field. Lamar and the run game are the ticket. Atlanta's defense is not that good but they have speed which could be a potential problem for us.
We must win this game as I expect a loss against the Chiefs. Then beat the Bucs and Browns at home. 9-7 should be enough to win
the final wild card spot.
