yeah, that's why I said three years. Ballard has done it in two. The colts in one season went from a team with a shitty oline and bad defense to the opposite. A large part of it has to do with Andrew Luck, but this past offseason from the colts is the bulk of why the roster did a total 180. That oline is lowkey one of the best in football and the defense is a lot different. You can’t do that with a GM. They need some time to do things their way. Look at the Colts and Ballard. That didn’t happen in his first year.
I’m not sure it was a coaching decision as much as it would be a front office decision. Joe would play if needed and that’s why he was backup, but I don’t think we wanted to play him unless absolutely necessary
Eric has the chance to do something similar. After 3 years we will know better because start of Lamar's fourth year is when we decide whether to pick up the fifth year option. That should be his window if you ask me. Lamar has the tools to develop, make his development easier and get him a team. If we continue this nonchalance with Lamar like we did with Joe, Eric should walk. And it's not debatable at all.
That's a short leash for a GM. And what he should get. We don't need to ride the QB carousel again. If we get Lamar all those things and Lamar still busts, that's a different story, but if we leave the guy out to dry like Ozzie has done recently... He should walk.
And you're not going to change my mind.
