Can't we all just agree that Nike's shoes are inferior to Adidias(I have a wide foot and I have never have been able to wear most of their shoes)??
I'm trying to think of the last time I even owned a pair of Nike's. It's been since high school, so at least 6 years, but probably closer to like 8 years. I own Asics, mostly. Or Adidas. I like both of those brands. Can't we all just agree that Nike's shoes are inferior to Adidias(I have a wide foot and I have never have been able to wear most of their shoes)??
Same. Asics are my running shoes and you can find a good pair at dicks for like $30(how much my last pair were). Adidas are my walking shoes.I'm trying to think of the last time I even owned a pair of Nike's. It's been since high school, so at least 6 years, but probably closer to like 8 years. I had to wear Converses in middle school for a school play. Horrendous shoes. 10/10 would not buy again.Same. Asics are my running shoes and you can find a good pair at dicks for like $30(how much my last pair were). Adidas are my walking shoes.
I tried a pair of Converse(who are owned by Nike). Terrible support. No thanks.
I really don't want to hear about how it is some "relic of a bygone racist era" from a person who probably has never even set foot on our soil.
That's basically saying keep your ideas to yourself because you aren't from here. You're instantly invalidating what he says on the premise that he isn't from here.
No, I shouldn't care about whether he's right or wrong because I don't particularly care about this topic (why Nike pulled their shoes), but yes, I should care about your attitude toward him because this is a thread that's meant to be inclusive and open to every person who wants to chime in, not only for the American population and that's a fast way to get it shut down.
Now there's something we actually agree on.I had to wear Converses in middle school for a school play. Horrendous shoes. 10/10 would not buy again.
I may be misunderstanding what you're trying to say, but you've only really been harping on if he's right or wrong. I don't care if he is or isn't at this very moment. Again, I only care that we are welcoming and not gatekeeping who can post here based on geographical location.I'm not going to explain for a third time what that meant. You are making this something it isn't.
Hence my problem with them. Nike sucksI actually really liked those shoes Nike was going to drop before Krapaernik opened his filthy mouth. I would have bought a pair. Only thing I don't like about Nikes is that the toes are usually a little tight. And could use a little more arch support. But to be fair I have wide ass duck feet
Yeah I just reread that....too narrow...too little arch support....not much else a shoe is supposed to do is there? lolHence my problem with them. Nike sucks
I'm not going to explain for a third time what that meant. You are making this something it isn't.
I don't need anyone on my "side", I'll argue with the entire forum if I thought I was right and everyone wrong....thought you'd know that about me after all these years B-Bird.
Whether or not he is factually incorrect is entirely the point here. It pisses me off enough when lefties here lie about things like this to further their agenda, which is why I say it is extra annoying when a foreigner does it. Don't focus so much on the "other country" part, focus on whether or not his claim is true. That's what matters.
Also, not saying he can't do anything. That is not my right or in my power to do so. He's welcome to his own opinions, regardless of how wrong they may be. I'll leave the silencing of opposing viewpoints to Google, FB, Twitter and MSM.
this has all blown up under the mis-representation that i think the american flag is racist - i very specifically said the betsy ross flag is from an era of the US where racist elements prevailed and whether its emblem was a symbol for racists to rally around or not at the time, it has become co-opted by white supremacist elements in the US
its original intention is kinda meaningless at this point because its symbolic to a large part of the US for different reasons to how its original symbolism and rightfully should be steered clear of
To be honest with you, what that flag means to the other side means nothing in this country. Nothing you said was wrong. That era was that era. What means a lot to the majority is taken in very differently by minorities. It is what it is.
which is my point - kaep's well within his remit to suggest to Nike that a large part of their target market will not take kindly to the symbolism of those shoes - its actual meaning/original meaning is functionally meaningless at this point its only about what that specific flag represents at this point
I can guarantee you that if Kaepernick didnt say anything no one would’ve thought anything of the BR flag.
I’m not white. I don’t care. History is history. It can’t be forgotten but it’s in the past. You can’t forget it but it’s literally just complaining for the sake of complaining. Nike had to do it because of their status with him as a key partner. But that doesn’t make it any less dumb than it is.
If people hate it, let the free market decide. Instead Nike has decided to alienate a large demographic in the company.
Also
Kaepernick complains that it alludes to an era of slavery when Nike literally uses slave labor to make most of their products. Fun. Guess you can look past oppression when you get a fat paycheck
It just hits people differently for different reasons.
Pretty sure the Br flag was hung at one of Obama’s inaugurationsNot really. As we've already said several times, the flag was a non-issue before Krapernick fabricated the outrage and resentment it would supposedly cause. When was the last time you even heard the BR flag talked about?
