Hollywood

He was already seriously adept at minimizing contact at or before the release point, he’s got god tier ability to win leverage early and his release is looking deadly now that he’s got that extra gear back both in acceleration and quickness.

his work in the first 5 yards off the line is looking scarily similar to his cousin.

everyone is so hype about Lamar and his next step, but for me the player I am by far most excited to watch this year is Hollywood. I think Hollywood is gonna break some non-volume based records this year, like I could see him having an all time yards per catch number, or touchdowns per route run type of year. I’m expecting a ridiculously explosive season from him.

i genuinely had hollywood in the top 12 players in the 2019 class even with the lisfranc - that's how high i was on him - ive got incredibly high hopes

Hollywood is still just a boom or bust player for me in fantasy. The new desean Jackson. I just don’t see him getting 7+ reception a game for all my PPR leagues. He’s a guy I stick in my flex and hope for the explosion lol
I'm in a 32 team league with off+def so you can't have elite players at every position. I'm expecting us to throw a lot more.

JK Dobbins doesnt have crazy top end speed but especially in the open field he's got so many highlights where he jukes out second and third level defenders
This is where I think a lot of the posters on these boards underrate dobbins. Somehow he’s developed this reputation of a steady and consistent back with no wow potential at all, some super safe rb who just follows blocks well but doesn’t have any “special” running talents, but in reality dobbins has a good bit of refining to do, and frequently has defenders looking absolutely silly falling over themselves with just raw elusiveness, and also bounces tf out of tacklers with raw power and drive from his core.

I’ll admit I went into the draft following these narratives about dobbins, but after a lot of study I think the consensus about dobbins on these boards is well off base, he is in no way this steady eddy average ceiling type, he’s straight up got ray rice/shady McCoy type talent, brilliant elusiveness and a great compact powerful frame and instant acceleration that will make LBs shit their pants.

the RB we've drafted with by far the most talent since Ray Rice - and he's going to be so helped by the running scheme we have here and by the attention lamar holds which will give him more opportunities to get into the 2nd and 3rd level where he's so dangerous - lots of plays that might have been 20 yds turning into 40 or 50

At what point do packing on too much muscle weight compromises the speed?

The only football i do now a days are flag football leagues. I always fear of bulking up too much and losing my speed. So I usually lift to maintain.

Sure I can rep out 225lbs on the bench, but why would I want to do that? 185 MAX all day babbbbyyy

Hollywood was in the 160s, it doesn’t matter if he compromises speed a little, it’s still an absolute necessity to get up to at least 180.

And if you watch his training, you’d probably understand that he’s not compromising much, he’s training for ridiculous amounts of explosiveness. Did you see him sled up some Olympic weights and push them 100m on one foot? Yeah he’s gonna still be explosive lol

tbh we always talked about his NFL weight being somewhere between desean jackson and tyreek hill and he just never had a chance to find it - we probably wont know it for sure until 2021 when he can have a full regular NFL offseason without metal in his foot but he played in the 160s in college and players naturally get heavier in an nfl training room from being able to treat their fitness professionally

180 isn't a crazy stretch - if he starts getting into the 190s ill start to have question marks but the 180s feel like the sweet spot (especially with how explosive he's looked on the training vids)

180 isn’t even close to heavy. Being an nfl player standing at 5’9” 180 is actually quite light, there are RBs who are shorter than that and 20 lbs heavier who can run like the wind. I always thought he’d find his playing weight somewhere between 180-185. That’s a respectable and ideal weight for smaller and faster receivers.

100% agree - somewhere between 180 and 185 feels like a sweet spot
