Week 6 Discussion (Other Teams)

I wish he was but he was being serious. Apparently their "analytics" system they use rated Cody Kessler higher than both Wentz and Prescott, and based off that I would say their analytics system is terrible at rating quarterbacks. Funny thing is in 1999, the Eagles got the better of the Browns in the 1999 Draft as well. They drafted Tim Couch, and the Eagles with the very next pick took McNabb.

Considering how well Watson is doing in Houston, Watson was there at 12 for the Browns after taking Garrett and they passed on him and allowed Houston to trade up and get him. Guess they will get another look at how badly their system is working.

Analytics is a terrible way to rate QBs, so are stats and wins, really you have to look at physical and intangibles, is he built for the AFC North? Is he a leader? Does he stand tall under pressure? Can he play in rain and snow and wind? Wentz is all those things and they passed on him.

I hope they keep there analytics team, if this is true. They will never be good without solid scouting.

Intangibles is extremely important and can’t be coached. However all the traits you mentioned are very important. I agree, analytics is an awful way to measure a qbs talent level and I’m not a fan of it for other players as well. You have to look at the heart of the player. Is he a football player, is he a hard worker, more than just the stats.

it's not like they are analytics only in their assessments - they just happen to believe in the maths about more picks and using the quantifiable data that's useful - it's not like they took cody kessler expecting him to be a starter and ill be honest with you i thought getting a future 1st rounder for deshaun watson was a great move at the time - hindsight is a wonderful thing but i never saw the arm strength on film that deshaun watson is showing us now - i think you can make the argument that they should have taken trubisky but that would have had to be in stead of garrett and its only been 1 game but he looks legit - the one i dont understand just because of the players they ended up with in stead was not taking wentz at number 2 - yes they got a future 1st round pick which turned into (either jabrill peppers/david njoku - cant remember which) and another future 1st rounder but that year they picked up corey coleman in stead of carson wentz

essentially they traded carson wentz for corey coleman, jabrill pepers and a 2018 first round pick and that looks dumb right about now - but it also turned into a remarkable draft haul this year (or it could be) so every cloud

I personally thought Watson should have been the 1st QB picked. I thought he showed an accurate and strong arm and has pretty damn good maneuverability. Showed he could perform in the clutch by not only showing up in big games but I though he dusted everybody at the combine. We'll see how Trubisky does (like this weekend) but just having more "potential" shouldn't be the first priority given imo

That's pathetic. Him and his girlfriend both look like they'd be assholes. And she was egging it on after the first hit. Hope they get what's coming to them. Sucker punching an older man, at that. Id sacrifice a possible ban from the stadium to put that guy on his ass.
And I’d they have season tickets, good chance that happens. Atleast losing his season tickets.
