Lamar Jackson

I also think you’re grossly overrating how well the guy is doing now that it’s 2021…. People began unfollowing him in 2020, more so after “poopgate” (hey, just using megastar terminology), and especially so after 2021 struggles.
And you’re grossly overrating the popularity of ray Lewis and Ed Reed outside of the ravens fanbase

Mahomes is Curry. Both lightskin fellas that were created from a laboratory (allegedly the same one) from a foreign planet tasked to perform unworldly shit in their respective leagues. As a Blazers fan, Lamar kinda has the same parallels as Lillard.

Damn, and now we have our hard but true soectators of the event despite the call of Curry’s and Doncic’s of the league… yet one I feel fits exactly right…

Pump the breaks a little bit. There’s a reason when most people are asked “ who was the greatest LB to play the game” they almost unanimously answer LT or Ray. Same can’t be said for our boy when talking about QBs. Lamar has been really great in his first four years. Let’s just appreciate that and pace ourselves as he has a long way to go. Let’s get a super bowl before we worry about transcending anything

Here, let me make it easy for you. In 10 yrs time, Lamar Jackson will be known as the best football player to have put laces on, forget QBs.

I stand by my statement even after separating fatherhood and very objectively too.

First off, I wanna just say I completely love and respect your opinion good sir. I honestly love you as an uncle here, and that means a lot.

It appears that way now, because players with Lamar’s talents are always pushed to play wr or rb from the time they’re kids. Lamar paves the way for a new breed of qb, kids who would’ve spent their whole adolescence playing rb despite having qb ability will now push to play qb and coaches will be more open minded to it.
There’s a guy that I work with from outside Atlanta, huge Falcons fan. A couple of years ago I suggested to him that Lamar was about to be a much better version of Michael Vick, he got really pissed. He said there will never be another Mike Vick, that when he was playing kids were wearing his jersey, trying to emulate him, that he changed a culture. Seems you are saying similar here.

exactly this sort of thing - their impact goes beyond their accolades

His play-style and his charisma create this epic feeling of some sort of mythical player - someone you just have to watch

it’s completely separate to how good he is or how good he’ll end up being

Let’s hope our mythical dragon, err I mean player, gets us a few playoff wins and perhaps a Super Bowl would be very nice

Exactly.

And it’s a great thing kids will try to emulate Lamar, not so much because he is a great athlete, but because he is a humble stand up guy. In that sense dude has a lot of weight on his shoulders and hopefully he doesn’t lose sight of it. Money can do strange things to the best.

Now that’s settled, he needs to get his head out of his a$$ and play some smart, winning football.

Crazy cause i called lamar a better runner way back in college and mfs didnt believe me when it was easy to see. Lamar is more of an allen iverson to me. Like he really is a representation of a style most of us have seen or been apart of growing up. Like he really brung this shit to the nfl just like iverson did to nba.

To me it’s unfair to Lamar to compare him to Vick. I mean Vick was a real dual threat QB who changed the mindset in the NFL about these type QB’s, but Lamar is above and beyond in many ways. He’s a better runner then Vick, he’s shown flashes of being a great passing QB, and he has way more leadership skills. Not mention the bad off field choices that Vick made.

As you say Lamar has been in a funk for a while but it’s hard for me to judge him this year with all of injuries. He’s trying to do too much right now. He’s frustrated. He just needs to calm tf down, forget the last play, and move on to the next. He’ll be fine.

Are you a Russian Troll?

Iverson is probably the most accurate one I can think of, back in 02-04 every white suburban kid who never watched a game in their life had an iverson jersey, me included lmao, which is kinda where my point stems from, it’s about transcending the typical fan of the sport, it goes beyond the game

I think a lot of folks are missing Joey and rossi’s point lol. Lamar has the popularity of a LeBron/generational type of talent. They’re not saying Lamar’s on LeBron’s level in terms of success. One day, though…

I don’t think he has anywhere near the popularity of Lebron, curry , or even Mahomes . That’s a mixture of 1) being on a small market team 2) lack of endorsements 3) Lamar’s humble personality 4)lack of championships….I feel like we’re on totally different wave lengths with this discussion. You guys are really inflating Lamar’s presence in the sports world.

If you are going to compare Lamar to other players, even if in other sports, please look only at Michael Jordan. Anybody else, is simply demeaning to Lamar. People may laugh at me right now, but in time will hail me as a living avatar of Nostradamus. I've said this since he landed on the Ravens. Never wavered. Nor will I when he is going through a lean spell.

Anyone else notice how hyped Lamar got for Huntley? Not the fake stuff either, just genuinely pumped for his buddy. Awesome to see that and just another reason why the guys love Lamar

Oh so yall like Huntley now?? Damn the way yall flip flop lol not too long ago I said he should be are #2 and yall called him a camp body. Just recently I seen nothing but how much he sucks. Now yall love him. Make it make sense. Blame him for saying go for 2...what player would say no coach let's play smart? Lol
