EDC made it clear that he expects Duvernay to take another step
it's gonna be a 3 way battle for snaps

proche has the least lee-way though because he has very little special teams value - you can maybe justify it if he's WR3/4 but if he's WR5 then expect him to be inactive on gamedays
I agree its 3 way battle in camp. Its just my prediction that one of Proche and Wallace will outcompete Duv. Not that he wont be given the opportunity. Personally, I didn't see the jump EDC keeps saying about Duv, but I was encouraged by what I saw from the other 2.

I’m really excited to see which dude makes the jump. I think we’re gonna go find a WR2 after cuts, and one of duvernay or Wallace becomes the slot. Really excited to see those 2 duke it out for the slot job, vastly different styles, both very talented in their own styles.
Why are you forgetting Proche? I think he may be the missing slot.

tbf, i did see a bit of a jump from duvernay - the release work that he'd been doing with Dubb in the offseason clearly paid off - but i think he's close to his ceiling as a WR at this point - he just doesnt have the explosive twitch and agility to be a non-linear route threat

but put him in the slot or at Z and target him on RPO slants to the backside and if you hit him in stride in the middle of the field he'll be gone

ive never been high on duvernay but i did see a jump from year 1 to year 2 - just not sure what jump he could even make in year 3...

Right this is the problem. Like if you give him a bunch of snaps next year he's unfortunately just not gonna make much of impact if he doesn't take another step. I agree in that I definitely don't see another one coming

I think we are positioned perfectly for the playoffs with the help of this draft class .

Ronnie Stanley and a NO 2 receiver are the biggest holes that I can see . I sure hope our running backs and starting corners
health won’t be an issue .

I thought RB might be an issue until they took one in the 6th round lol. That pretty much told me how confident they are in Dobbins and Gus. I thought for sure we’d be looking for one around the 3rd with the Melvin Gordon talk

i agree - just not seen enough from him to project him being a dangerous weapon for us beyond what we've already seen
might have to go and watch the josh johnson game to have a look at tylan wallace lol

great draft class. Actually incredible draft class, I just didn't expect to come out of it with a hole at the WR position.

so watching the josh johnson bengals game to watch tylan wallace and not many takeaways right now tbh other than... he moves better than duvernay in and out of breaks and he's twitchier than proche

room to improve, especially with his releases (something he was really underdeveloped at in college too) but i like how he moves through his routes

but...

while trying to watch Tylan, i could not keep my eyes off Rashod who's already so nuanced with his route-running, so explosive, has outrageous flexibility in his lower-body, and what i noticed was his intelligence and his ability to read coverage like a QB - im fucking pumped about Rashod in 2023 and beyond

Thinking about what the roster would look like.

QB
Lamar
Huntely
(2)

RB
JK
Gus
Badie
(5)

FB
Ricard
(6)

OL
Stanley
Mekari
Linderbaum
Zeitler
Moses
James
Cleveland
Colon
Tyree
Powers
Faalale
(17)

WR
Rashod
Duvernay
Proche
Wallace
Unknown guy
(22)

TE
Andrews
Boyle
Kolar
Likeley
(26)

DL
Calais
Pierce
Madabuike
Wolfe
Travis
Washington
(32)

OLB
Odafe
Ojabo
Bowser
Hayes
Ferguson
Unknown guy
(38)

ILB
PQ
Bynes
Welch
UDFA
(42)

CB
Marlon
Marcus
JAD
Damarion
Unknown
(47)

S
Williams
Hamilton
Clark
Stephens
Stone
Jefferson
Washington
(54)

Wolfpack
Moore
Stout
Goat
(57)

So with my assessment of needing to add one EDGE, 1 Corner, have 1 ILB UDFA make the team and adding 1 WR, that would put us 4 spots over what is allowed.

The most obvious place to trim is Safety, OL, and TE. I would think you cut Powers, Washington, Jefferson/Stone, and Likely and your at 53.

IF we could find a way to fill in the holes with Justin Houston, Joe Haden, and Jarvis Landry I think we'd legitimately have the most talented Ravens roster I've ever seen.

dont forget that ojabo is likely gonna begin the season on PUP so wont have to make the initial 53 man roster so that also reduces by 1

we rarely keep more than 10 OL and we rarely, tbh, even keep 10... powers and i think 1 of Tyre, Cleveland and Ja'wuan James is gonna get canned too

and we obviously have the question of wtf is going on with derek wolfe...

we probably only keep 11 DBs but the ability of stephens and washington to play in the nickel adds some flexibility that maybe means you keep all 12

really excited about our offensive line. Amazing what a few days can make after taking Tyler Linderbaum, who we may not have wanted at 14 and may not be a perfect fit for our scheme, but is most likely the best center we have ever had if not atleast the last decade. Taking Linderbaum improves the rest of the offensive line, with Mekari backing up all of those spots and possibly the starter at left guard. Then on day 3 we pick a high upside monster of a man in Daniele Faalele who earlier in the process was seen as a 2nd rounder.
