Shout out to Clowney and KVN man. Just insane how much they're giving us all things considered.

I would really like oweh and bowser back though

Clowney and KVN have looked good but when it’s the other depth guys we’ve had very little reliable play

Need those guys back just so we don’t need those guys to play 100% of the snaps just so we don’t have to see Robinson or moon

Yeah that one could go either way. It looked to me like either Hill was sliding right before he got the handoff and Lamar knew he wasn’t going get the ball where it should have been placed and just lateraled it. I would call that one a no fault fumble. Either way it wasn’t the bonehead fumbles he’s been putting down lately.
eh, for whatever reason the mesh point wasn't there, it happens. You either stretch to stick it in his hands or just keep it and eat it. No way Hill could have expected the toss, he was focused looking to the hole.

I’ve always thought he was better at S because of that issue, but he’s turned it up a notch this year to the point where I can live with it. Instead of being a step or two behind, he’s running step for step with these dudes. I’ll live with no turnovers and occasional penalties if it means borderline lockdown coverage.

Also been particularly good in man where you’re not really supposed to be finding the ball til the very end of the play and multiple times this year he’s got his hand in between the receivers to try and make a play - when receivers can play through the DBs hands like that you kind of have to just take your hat off

And even on the PI today, it only got called coz the ball was so awfully thrown

Tavius Robinson has been better than I thought he'd be. Probably better than Ojabo to this point, who I saw somewhere, had the 2nd worse pass rush win rate in the league among edges, above only Thibodeaux.

The operation looked off from the start. Regardless of who it's on, you don't want to be seeing that stuff still in week 4 especially after piling up similar mistakes in games 1-3. Something has to give there. Just the kind of stuff that stalls what progress you are making with the unit as a whole.

Lamar should have just killed it
But think hill’s aiming point/timing was off too

Yep. He may still not be getting his head around but he seems a lot more confident in finding the ball via visual cues from the receiver.

Idk maybe just me but not seen anything from Robinson so far to suggest he’s anything but a JAG right now

You’ll note though, that i didn’t mention Ojabo in my post at all anyway…

And that’s absolutely fine by me tbh
Ironically turning your head late isn’t what they teach cbs on the outside much anymore because that’s when you lose the receiver - much more consistent and repeatable to play the hands

It’s why receivers are coached to use late hands when they can

The PI call reminded me of the one OBJ got a couple of weeks ago.

Of course you can - was just contending that I’d still like him not to be on the field right now and we’ve got 2 guys hopefully to come back in soon enough that should make that happen…
Oh right, I get you.

Are you not being a little harsh on Robinson? If he can step in for the older edge players (and eventually Ojabo) on early downs that can only help the team keep the top guys fresh throughout the season.

I’ve not seen anything from him right now that suggests he’s someone we want filling in on early downs either - hasn’t consistently set the edge well so far in his young career and hasn’t offered anything as a pass rusher yet

I like him developmentally but he’s not someone I’d like to see much of right now but he’s getting a chance to grow anyway

Just really want the other 3 guys back but ojabo’s now guaranteed out another 3 weeks

Robinson and Moon have both been detriments in the run game to this point, although it’s really only been 2 weeks. Don’t think either should be on the field consistently at this point. Think Robinson has more upside but isn’t quite there yet.

Idk both were bullshit but for completely different reasons lol

Odell’s was never PI but was at least catchable

Cooper’s was PI… except it was never catchable - it was only PI because the ball was so awfully thrown

Only commonality was that 2 vets sold it and got it
I think we're thinking of 2 different plays. The OBJ PI I reference wasn't the one where he pulled the guy down with him in the end zone, it was in the middle of the field and the pass was most definitely an uncatchable dying quail.

I just listened to Harbaugh and everything sounded pretty positive on the injury front, except for Ojabo. Harbs said he has some decisions to make and it is private. It definitely sounded like it could be season ending.

Ravens Ring of Honor
Yeah I'll take the under. Browns defense is obviously really good. Even if you look at the normal or even advanced metrics, Browns D was pretty good. They were good on 3rd down, yards/play was solid, Ravens had seemingly "great" rushing #s yet only averaged 4.0 YPC (which isn't good), and they clamped down hard in the second half. Ravens basically had 2-3 good drives the whole game.
Note that 14 of the Ravens 28 points came off of exceptionally good field position from one of the Browns many disastrous turnovers.
They were clamped down on in the second half because they went very conservative and stopped trying to push the ball. Every single person in the stadium knew the calls were going to be run/run/pass in the 2nd half because the Ravens knew the Browns were not going to score 21. To that end I do not really care about the half when the Ravens were not really trying to score but I do care about the half that they were trying to score. Ravens drove down the field almost at will until they went super conservative to protect the lead.

Meanwhile now that we are a few games in we can step back and look at how the Browns seemingly great defense is doing relative to its competition. This was Lamar's best game of the year so this was clearly not the toughest defense the Ravens have faced. Most points the Ravens scored and again they took their foot off the gas. The Steelers had their 2nd best offensive game of the year against the Browns. We just watched the Bengals look awful now on offense for 4 weeks in a row. There has been nothing to suggest the Browns defense are better than other defenses. It just is not something we have seen.

I know the game is in 2 weeks but I looked up the line and its at -3.5--4.5. The 49ers are winning that game by double digits so get in on the 49ers. I am more confident in that result than when we had our week 1 debate about the Cowboys destroying the Giants or the 49ers destroying the Steelers (that one was easy because the Steelers are an overhyped media darling), or the Eagles against the Patriots (which I almost lost). This one is free money. The Browns and Steelers are simply not that good. They are overhyped media darlings and it looks like the AFC North is not quite as good as advertised even in a few weeks if Burrow gets health it will be a 2 team race.
