Two more things I will say...

1. The squeegee kid shit is annoying. I've seen more than I should that have gotten aggressive... generally to someone that disrespects them first, but still not okay. Usually a head shake and quick wave and they'll keep moving.

2. If you do want to go to the game and have fear, pay the extra $40 or whatever for closer garage parking. Or light rail in. You can easily avoid all of the 'bad' if you stay closer to the stadium.

And you’re not wrong about that. I will say that I’m a 5’6 white suburban dude and have never been physically threatening, so I’d be a hypothetical target. Crime happens in the nicer areas but it’s far more the exception than the rule. Just feel like a lot of the fear is projecting rather than legitimate. I’m generally a believer that yes, Baltimore is unsafe, but it’s concentrated in certain areas. Fed, Fells, Canton, Harbor East, Mt. Vernon, Mt. Washington, etc are all more than safe places. Hell, even around the stadium is generally fine too.
Was just downtown for the WWE event on the day after Xmas. We parked on the street about a block from the Arena and walked across Hopkins Plaza. Had my head on a swivel thru there simply because of the smell. But we weren't completely alone, there were a few others walking to the event, in front of us and on Baltimore St and on Lombard(?)... It was fine, tho. We had dinner at Cross Street Market, if it's still called that. Fine there too. Granted it was the day after Xmas and there really weren't many people out at all.

The wife and I will go places like Fells and Harbor East with warmer weather and feel safe, but I think I'd hesitate letting my daughter do what I used to do with going to NWA rasslin' every month. That was the early and mid 80's when I was in my early teens with a friend who could drive. Our parents just said, "Be careful and have fun." We, of course, had fun, but we ventured places out of curiosity, in retrospect, might not have been the best places to go. lol Just be careful, not fearful, per se.

Looks like no Andrews for tomorrow. Not expected to be activated yet. But good chance for next week.
Yeah sounds like he put together a real impressive week of practice and technically probably could have played, but they're still thinking more on the long term here for the sake of Andrews and the team. Him getting 2-3 more practices in is probably the difference.

People that fear Baltimore clearly don't spend time in cities. It's extremely obvious which parts of the city you should and shouldn't be walking around in at night.

Also, go with others. Highly unlikely somebody trying to mug somebody is going to mug a group of 2-3+ people. And obviously women tend to be more targets than men.

Pay attention, and you'll be fine.

Except my guy Daquan. Saw him everyday on my drive home and told him I'd spot him $2 once a week. Always would come over and chat at the red light, ask how life was going, all that shit. Never bothered a single person if they said no. Genuinely just needed money to eat every week. Hope he's alright nowadays lol
My first teaching gig was Fuhram L. Templeton Elem on Pennsylvania Ave. It is still there, different name now, but up about two blocks from MLK and right behind it is the Wire neighborhoods, so I was teaching the kids that were the backdrop to that show. I would park on the street in front of the school and the addicts would sometimes approach for some money. One time I didn't give a guy something and I came back to my car with the antenna ripped off. I made sure to have some quarters and singles after that. Had the tinfoil antenna for a year after that until I switched schools and finally fixed it. lol. I know one of the kids I taught there was involved in a drive-by that killed his toddler daughter. He was killed a couple years later. Brutal.

Am I the only one who sees literally no correlation between the cost of ticket prices and how loud or even attended the game is? Can somebody explain why they think those things are related?

I think fans just bitch because they want to bitch. If it were a $500 get-in, you'd be bitching about how it prices out the "true fans" and that it's become just like the Superbowl.

I'm a season ticket holder. I'm not going to the game either. And I can tell you 100% that the gameday experience from my living room is better than the gameday experience from the stadium... and I've been to a lot of games in a lot of stadiums. It's entirely overrated. Especially true if you're trying to bring younger children to the game.

The amount of time I spend teaching my 7 year old about the game, during the game, is the exact same amount of time I spend explaining to my son why he can't repeat any of the 20 curse words the guy right in front of us yelled at absolutely nobody, and I have to pretend to not smell what my son smells, which is the guy two rows in front of me lighting up his 5th joint of the afternoon.

Next time you go to a game, just watch people. They'll spend as much time on the toilet and in the beer lines as they will in their seats watching the game. The tailgate lot is packed to the brim at 1245pm for a 1pm game.

LMAO

Yeah most of the 'unsafe' behavior in the nicer areas are just the junkies trying to score a couple of bucks so they can run back to their dealers. The drug shit stays where it is because that's where they make the money.

Are you guys also following this cringy beef going back and forth between RG3 and Jay Gruden. Makes me hate them both
of course I am. I always thought the Jay Gruden hire was a mistake. Thought they should have hired Sean McDermott, whom they did interview.

I love that people's expectations are from playoff games 3 or more years ago like Lamar has stayed the same. I've been way too humble to this point now fuck it. Ravens by 14+.
That and you still have all the old heads (looking at you Bill Polian) saying the way to beat Lamar is to keep him in the pocket like he ain’t been dicing defenses up from there the majority of the season. Bad takes are bad.

and like it's that easy to keep him in the pocket. I mean teams have been trying to do that forever, but he wins from the pocket every week, as you said. Bill Polian keeps digging a whole deeper and deeper. Might as well bury himself.

Earlier in the year when we played the way we did against Indy and Pitt I said this team couldn't compete because it neither offensively (Pitt) or defensively (Indy) had shaken the issues of years past. Mainly, defensive collapses of leads and an inconsistent offense.

Since then, we did lose a collapse to the Browns, but really played consistent offense and closed out games against Chargers (offense not so good), Rams, 49ers, and Dolphins.

This team has absolutely matured. It has a vastly improved Lamar Jackson since his last playoff game. It has a vastly improved WR corps. It has a vastly improved offensive scheme and OC. It also has a better defense.

Anything short of a win against the Texans would be a cowboys level of meltdown.
