Next Up: Bye Bye Marty, Pees and Harbaugh?

Agreed as I said I think him and Joe maxed this offense out the second half of the season and I give them a lot of credit for it... I wouldn’t mind having mike back as a WR #2 though with someone like Landry or Robinson then we are talking
I think Mike is a good #2 but he's definitely not someone who can carry an offense.

If I sign a #1 its Allen Robinson no questions asked. Jarvis Landry is going to be a #2 getting paid like a number #1.

Exactly why I’d prefer Allen Robinson or even Marquise Lee, whoever the Jags don’t sign, then see if they can resign Wallace or get Crabtree. Both of them have to be reasonable signings and of course Crabtree isn’t a fa yet, but rumors are out there that he will be cut.

I’ll leave this here and he didn’t even get to play as many snaps as most of these rookies because of him being third in the rotation all year... this is a list of the top 25 rookies this season
Up from NR?...no rating?..........well like I said, safety maybe...gain weight, get angry. He's never gonna break on a ball.

If Marty is staying, we need play makers in order to score some points. We know what the defense can do, and I think with a new coordinator we'll see a defense that doesn't break. Just need the play makers that can put up enough points to win.

This FO just loves talking about play-makers yet don't do enough to obtain them. At least this year there is no step-up scenario. I feel really good about us going hard after Allen Robinson.

Why is Bobby Engram still our WRs coach? Can anyone tell me what, if anything, he has done to improve the play of our WRs in the time that he's been here?

And yet just this week he broke on a ball beautifully and the only reason he didn’t intercept it was because aj green played defence and got an arm in...
Yes, that was a nice play and AJ had a very good defensive play as well.

I care about this more than Marty - Marty at least showed that he could change up the offence and improve it when the players played well enough but bobby engram has done nothing to improve our wr corps - if anything we get receivers into the building and then they start regressing and looking worse than they did in college

It's tough for me to really say. Development takes place in the offseason, and so far Perriman and Camp havent had one. The vets like SSS, Wallace and Maclin are what they are - not teaching old dogs new tricks.

And other than Perriman there hasnt really been anyone with the talent or tools to say he absolutely should have made a sizable impact.

I certainly wouldnt mind an upgrade - someone with a proven development track record - but i dont know how much there is to really judge him on.

Plus when you factor in that we've never developed a quality receiver in house, you have to wonder whether or not its coaching or if its organizational and the personnel team just doesnt know what they need to find.

i just look back at his first season and see how torrey smith regressed and how marlon became useless, then nothing happens with perriman (obviously injuries dont help) and other potential receivers seemingly dont kick on at all - i feel like he does reasonable work with making bad receivers kind of usable for a time but doesnt really develop guys - i think he'd probably be a great developer of wrs at the college level but im not sure hes doing good work in the nfl

Thats fair. Very fair.

But on Torrey i just dont think he was a fit for the offense we were running in 2014. He hasnt done much in the Eagles WCO either. Or in SF. Outside of stretching the field, the occasional deep ball, and drawing DPI hes only had moments in the NFL. We simply used him to perfection for a bit.

Aiken could be said to be a bright spot. But neither he or Brown have done anything outside of here either, which speaks to maybe its player selection/evaluation over coaching/development.

I liked what Camp started to show toward the end of the season, but it was his only healthy stretch so who knows if there was any development actually involved.

Really none of our receivers have gone on to do anything anywhere, but its tough for me to say whether its lack of development or just we are freaking terrible at finding useful, impact receivers. Other than pulling in near HOF talents later in their careers that are already finished products, we just dont get impact players at the position. Maybe its because we cant find a good developer of talent.... or maybe we just dont know how to evaluate talent that can be developed.

that's a fairly realistic point of view to have too but i just get no sense that receivers are improving from their college days - time will tell but i would like to see new blood both at the position and at the positional coach level... it may be that he's staying and if the offence sucks in 2018 that we clean house pretty much from top to bottom...

conceivably if 2018 is a shitshow we could see a new HC, OC, WR coach, TE coach, QB coach just on the offensive side of the ball - and a number of players might be gone (or on their way out) too
