The Bad, The Ugly, and the Pathetic

JAAM

At this point I’d trade the farm for Ramsey and go all in in free agency since we’re top 10 in cap space with a QB on a rookie contract

Can’t mask a hole at cb2, every other hole can be worked around.

And beyond that, jimmy is gone now but he’s gonna be gone in the future, Ramsey is a now and future move. If we don’t trade for Ramsey, then we’re gonna have the same holes, because we’re gonna be using those picks in the secondary, in which case we would be lucky if ONE of those picks pan out, and if ONE pick pans out(which is just shy of best case scenario) then we would still have those same holes.

Make the move, guarantee you shore up the biggest hole on the roster, make due with what you have in draft currency later on.

2 firsts for Ramsey would literally be better than any possible 2 players we could get, there is a 99% chance you can’t come anywhere close to that value by making those picks
The hole at pass rush can't be masked. We could have an all star secondary and it won't matter if a qb gets all day to throw.

But how many of those picks are hits?

In the past decade let’s discuss the hit rate on 1s 2s and 3s
09: Oher, Kruger, Webb. 1/3 with the 1 being an expensive injury guy

10: Kindle, Cody, Dickson. 0/3

11: jimmy, Torrey, Reid. 2/3

12: upshaw, ko, pierce. 1/3

13: Elam, brown, Williams. 1/3

14: Mosley, Jernigan, brooks, Crockett. 1/4(don’t argue Jernigan please lol he did nothing for us)

15: perriman, maxx, Davis. 0/3

16: Stanley, Correa, kaufusi. 1/3

17: Humphrey, bowser, Williams, wormley. 1/4

18: hurst, Lamar, andrews, brown. Jury is out but I say 2/4 with potential for 4/4

19: brown, Ferguson, Boykin. Potential 3/3 but right now looking like 2/3 at absolute best

12/35 maybe 14/35 long term

You’re willing to put faith in the FO to make all the right picks with the same currency we could use for Ramsey? Because if we miss on ANY pick days 1-3 next year then we’re left with the same amount of holes and no Ramsey
That list hurts, but I'd offer a 1st this year, a 2nd in 2021 and a player. I'm not willing to trade a 2020 1st and 2021 1st. No way. That's too much for 12 games at best.

Ramsey to shore up the jimmy smith issue

Elliott starts in place of Jefferson
I would love to have Ramsey, but I don’t think Jax really wants to trade him. They claim they want two 1’s in return. That is a steep price, but then again Ramsey is a proven beast.

Said this in the game thread but Jalen Ramsey won't fix this defense.

but it'll make it better. We have to start from somewhere

I hope eric doesn't try the ''I'm going to build thorugh the draft '' crap. our drafts are crap in general and our eye for talent is laboring at the bottom of all the NFL teams. We get excited when we have a solid player and pay them like they're aaron donald.

So, do people still think that Peanit is such an upgrade over Mosely on passing downs? Just like I thought. Without Mosely telling him what to do he is lost.

12 games at best?

Jimmy is gone next year. Ramsey’s coming here and getting extended and asked to play man just like he wants. That’s not a rental that’s a long term lockdown tandem

Here's Week 17....

Browns beat Bengals. Browns be watching the screen at the stadium waiting for Mason Rudolph to make a game winning TD to win the AFC North and go to the playoffs.

lol at those calling the season over already haha put your natural light down bud.

Ugly game for sure, the Browns were 1-2 but simply played harder than us today and look to have more talent and like they could easily win this division.

Our defense is way better than this, the only logical explanation is that our defense has played tired, lazy, worst in the NFL defense, which is unusual for us but has happened 3 weeks in a row. But that is what you get when you draft offense instead of defense and refuse to add more players on defense other than Earl Thomas...especially after we lost a lot of good defensive players in free agency.

This defense has no identity, and even a fake one at times with Pernell McPhee acting like he is Ray Lewis or Ed Reed. For the first time in franchise history this defense is without a clear cut leader, it certainly is not and never will be McPhee.

Kyler Murray- 349yds
Pat Mahomes- 374yds
Baker & Chubb- 500+yds

No pass rushers, weak DBs which makes for unstoppable offenses clearly proven today given we could not stop the Brown's offense.

UNACCEPTABLE

Penalties, dropped balls CATCHABLE BALLS. Multiple costly turnovers. Shotgun draw on 3rd and 6?!?! Marty is that you?!?! That is a Marty Morenenehig special the shotgun draw on 2nd or 3rd and long. That's like saying "nope we won't get a first down passing" Not even going to try? Horrible play call, and poor play calling all game not taking any deep shots all game. No pass attempts to Hayden Hurst all game until garbage time...so much for that 1st round pick.

No pass rush whatsoever, meanwhile our defense got to watch the Browns feast on Lamar Jackson all day. The Offensive line has struggled, and where most savvy QBs know how to best take advantage of constant pressure and blitzes Lamar is clearly not ready to run the offense, he doesnt know how to pick up blitzes, have not heard him audible at the line ever, and why not implement some hurry up offense into what could be a much more dangerous offense.

Lamar Jackson has got to find a way to become a Mastermind behind the line of scrimmage become a student of the game and really do everything in his power to become the best passer he can be. He clearly lacks talent as a pocket passer...same as Vick, Cam Newton, Kaepernick, RG3 and others who are always a threat to move the ball with their legs, which makes for an exciting offense but ultimately they are not capable when it matters to move the ball through the air.

I'm all for giving Lamar a chance to develop but it just feels like he is a player who has a short ceiling when it comes to passing the ball. As hard as he may work and try to be a great passer and say things like he wants to throw the ball 30-40 times per game and that he prefers passing the ball to running it all the things you want to hear. Maybe it was the offensive lines fault, or the receivers for dropped passes...but sooner or later we have to start passing the ball better, take shots down field, the Browns knew we wouldn't, challenged us to do so with their defenders playing well off the ball and they were right because we could not pass the ball.

Our season is not over yet, we just need to make an effort to improve and up the effort level. Would be nice to see us make a trade or sign a veteran to add a spark to an otherwise culturally insufficient Ravens team. No identity no swag, no ball so hard U.

Earl is just on a team wtih only one good D player with him and that's Humprhey. We have nothing else

Pierce has regressed

Wormley is the jag we all said he would be

we're basically a team of chuck clarks everywhere and maybe chucks one of our better players

No but what’s to say we could fix the pass rush by drafting?

The number of picks it takes to get Ramsey won’t affect our ability to land a pass rusher because we don’t know how to draft and coach them

12 games under rookie contract. He's going to hold out 100% he does not plan to play under the 5th year option. I don't want to spend all these resources on the secondary alone while having spent none on pass rushers.
Marlon, Thomas, Ramsey, Young and Jefferson and two 1sts. That's too much.
