not paying peanut, jimmy and carr are old. McpHee is cheap from here on end. Levine will be 34
gotta move on
And those are valid points.
My point is you've now identified at least 3 starters, on just the defense, that you will need to replace via the draft or FA.
And we haven't made mention of the unimpressive defensive line, any of the other linebackers on the roster (where we obviously need upgrades), how comfortable anybody is going to be with a $12.6M cap hit for Tony Jefferson next year, adding at least 1-2 more corners for depth.
And we haven't gotten to the offense yet, of which I'm sure everybody will be wanting at least 1-2 upgrades to the Oline (and that's assuming Yanda comes back). And Snead, Roberts and Moore are all FAs, so you basically have two WRs on the roster.
That's like 10 replacement players, all with key roles.
2 year project, at a minimum, from where I sit. And fans won't be happy in 2020 if even one of those positions isn't addressed. See current year reactions to the glaring holes from this offseason that weren't filled.
And i'm not even suggesting we should or shouldn't do any of this. I'm suggesting this is the point where realistic expectations about where upgrades will come and where they won't should be set.
