Next Up: vs Patriots

This will be another good test for the Ravens, but W, L, or draw I don't have my expectations too high for a win here and it's not must win anyway. After holding off on a deadline trade we are clearly putting faith in this young defense to succeed. We know our offense will run the ball successfully and put up big rushing stats by the end of the game. Question is will Lamar Jackson be able to get it done against this tough Pat's defense? I think Bellichek does whatever he can do to limit Lamar's scrambles by keeping him in the pocket and dialing up consistent pressures. This will be a great game to see if Lamar's magic can continue against the best team in the NFL right now. We will likely have to see some of those classic Lamar scrambles for 1st downs as I expect the Pats will try all out to stuff the run force Lamar to throw and probably lead to a lot of 3 and outs.

I don't think we will be blown out of the the water although we certainly could be, this will not be an easy task for Lamar Jackson. Bellichek is READY for him, knows his flaws and will find a way to make Lamar beat him with his arm. But I still think those classic Lamar take off scrambles will keep us moving the chains.

Be nice if a healthy Marquise Brown shows up to play and makes a big play or 2 or 3. Maybe another solid plays by Miles Boykin, and we have 2 solid TEs that could do work too.

But again we can survive this loss at 5-3 going into a game against the Andy Dalton benched Bungals. Afterwards however we have quite the stretch of opponents- Texans, Rams, 49ers, Bills.

The division is easy for us this year, the Steelers without Big Ben, tanking Bungals that just benched Andy Dalton, the lost and confused looking Browns squad that managed to drop 40+pts on us...but since then have been worse than bad.

Clearly the thing to take away from this season is that we should be the king's of the North again and until the Steelers and Browns make significant improvements. Even with the division right at our finger tips, this Ravens team is a few pieces short of being true super bowl contender.

I love Lamar Jackson but once his magic runs out and he is forces to beat teams with his arm, we will have to embrace the fact that the young man is still in need of a lot of growth as a passing QB, and maybe a few better weapons/ O-line upgrades before we see him at his peak. And that goes for our defense as well, definitely missing a few pieces and will likely have to make decisions on guys like Brandon Williams, Jimmy Smith Brandon Carr, Tony Jefferson etc.this offseason. Wouldn't mind seeing us gut and remodel this leaky defense in the offseason, build around our core guys and try to get back to that consistent dominant defense we are accustomed to. Offense got a lot of love last offseason and it has lead us to a solid progression, defense is next.

Looking forward to this game and it should be a nail biting stretch of games over the next few months.

We will get to see what these guys are made of.

Since my hotel is right by Arundel Mills, may have to stop at Modell's and buy me a Black Jersey to contribute to the black out. Hopefully we can get majority of the fans wearing black for a true blackout. Only black jeresy I have is an old Flacco Reebok one. Rest of my jerseys, including Lamar and Tucker are purple.

I'm not going but because I own a black #8 jersey I wish I went!

I seem to recall you are Australian? Not sure where you are based but we have a few people getting together to watch it in a pub in Sydney
Aye I am, but not based in sydney. Usually I dont get much of a chance to catch games live except the super bowl or afc title games :(

Nah, Cowherd was worse.
He is jumping the bandwagon, too.

They can kiss my ass.
I hate all those talkign heads, cowherd and whitlock and shanon sharpe and max kellermen etc. I actually enjoy bayless and stephen A smith in comparison because they cant be taken seriously and its amusing.

I think we come out strong, get out to a small lead, Brady brings em back as is the usual. But in a twist of events, Lamar puts on his best Joe Flacco costume and becomes the patriot killer to win the game. With under a minute Lamar gets us in the end zone to win 27-24

Cowherd was a college and draft doubter, he changed his tune very fast once seeing him play. Whitlock on the other hand seemed like he read the statsheet and spouted off some cliches about why he won’t work in the nfl as recently as last week, like bruh... after the SEATTLE GAME he was still talking shit lol. Idk what made him change his tune over a bye week unless he finally got around to seeing him actually play

I seriously hope Lamar never puts anything even remotely looking like Flacco fucking costume.
