The Random Thought Thread

I think it's clear that the NFL is full of parity. If we fix our line I think we can be competitive every week. Random thought, let me know if any of you agree, it looks like Big Ben has lost a little of his game. And I don't think it's physical, I think it's mental. I'm not sure he still has the passion. Not having Bell might have something to do with it.

I think Ben lost that like 2 years ago tbh

He still makes the players around him better. I agree he’s not the same player but I’m not sure those wide receivers would be as good without him. Not saying they wouldn’t be good, just not as good.

“ we dont need jensen he can be replaced!” And all the other shit lots of people say whenever we lose player to FA or cut him.. now our current C is looking like the worst C in the lg. The crazy part is that he played very well for us, yet when he left, like our past players people acted like he aint do shyt for us.

I don't think that anyone (at least on here) said that Jensen was bad, or even that he was replaceable. He had a great season last year and was a fan favorite player. But he is the highest paid center in the NFL now and I think a lot of people here felt that he was not worth 10.5mil/year since he only had one full year as a starter under his belt. This was the third year in a row that a Raven linemen has left and reset the market at their position, so a lot of Ravens fans are just over losing players to mega-contracts I think.

Yeah literally everyone wanted to retain Jensen...it just wasn’t realistic to be able to match what the Bucs paid him

39 - 60, 452 yards, 3 TDs yesterday. Not too shabby.

There actually were a few(unnamed, you know who you are. lol) that said Jensen was easily replaced and it wouldn't be hard to find a serviceable center.

Really sad that Josh Gordon could not figure it out. Maybe a change a scenery will help him which is doubtful

There's a guy on the Ravens subreddit right now who is defending the Patriots 2014 trick plays in the divisional round.

If you'll remember correctly, these plays involved putting Shane Vereen in the slot, but he reported in as ineligible. This meant that the tight end the Patriots put in as an additional blocker, who could not normally be a receiver, was actually allowed to report in as eligible.

The issue came from the fact that the Patriots intentionally abused a rule in such a way that it confused the referees (never announced who was eligible/ineligible) and never allowed the Ravens to substitute, which the Patriots further exploited by quickly snapping the ball to prevent the referees from sorting through the situation and reporting correctly and allowing the correct substitutions.

At the owners meetings, this play was unanimously banned by all 32 owners, according to Mike Florio of PFT.

Anyway, this person was like, "Extra points were banned from the two yard line. Did that make them scummy?"

It's like, dude, are you trolling right now?

As someone who agrees with a fair bit of our moves, I never once said we could replace Jensen, not in house, or through FA, and tbh I didn’t love the prospects either, I liked price but wasn’t enamored or anything. I have been terrified of Skura starting, and I loved Jensen last year, he was probably the only reason our OL seemed to improve. I was extra mad about the bwill contract too because I would’ve preferred to pay Jensen with that.

If we resigned Jensen I probably would’ve custom ordered his jersey by now.

Funny you say that because Jensen was just OK early in his career. It took him years to become the guy he is now. He had hat sleep apnea condition that also caused him some issues. We took Jensen back in 2013 so he finally came into his own. Some of these young guys may also be that kind of player they may just need time

What part of the jerseys do you customize?
