There's a guy on the Ravens subreddit right now who is defending the Patriots 2014 trick plays in the divisional round.
If you'll remember correctly, these plays involved putting Shane Vereen in the slot, but he reported in as ineligible. This meant that the tight end the Patriots put in as an additional blocker, who could not normally be a receiver, was actually allowed to report in as eligible.
The issue came from the fact that the Patriots intentionally abused a rule in such a way that it confused the referees (never announced who was eligible/ineligible) and never allowed the Ravens to substitute, which the Patriots further exploited by quickly snapping the ball to prevent the referees from sorting through the situation and reporting correctly and allowing the correct substitutions.
At the owners meetings, this play was unanimously banned by all 32 owners, according to Mike Florio of PFT.
Anyway, this person was like, "Extra points were banned from the two yard line. Did that make them scummy?"
It's like, dude, are you trolling right now?
