2022 Bengals D: T-15th in yards/play allowed, T-11th in turnovers forced, T-17th in net yards/pass attempt allowed, T-7th in rush yards/attempt allowed, T-7th most in defensive penalties, T-8th most in defensive penalty yardage, 12th in QB hits, 29th in sacks, 6th highest yards/completion allowed.
2021 Bengals D: T-19th in yards/play allowed, T-17th in turnovers forced, T-20th in net yards/pass attempt allowed, T-13th in rush yards/attempt allowed, T-5th in most defensive penalties, 8th most in defensive penalty yardage, 12th in QB hits, T-11th in sacks, 12th in yards/completion allowed.

Also:
2021: T-23rd in yards/attempt rushing, 24th in rushing first downs, T-14th in rushing TDs
2022: T-29th in yards/attempt rushing, 24th in rushing first downs, T-19th in rushing TDs

For the last two years, Bengals are a complete and utter average-to-below average NFL defensive team, with a pretty dreadful running game. And they've been in the AFCG twice and made a SB.

Lamar with a mediocre defense, a below average Oline, and a pedestrian running game is scaring precisely nobody.

I think position-by-position, the Bengals have probably the weakest overall roster in the division. And yet they are rightfully viewed as the best team in it.

Well just keep in mind that you are a ravens fan in cinci, im sure bengals fans that lived in the Baltimore metro area had some seriously strong opinions about flacco when he was here lol

I’d like to see their defensive numbers in the post season, their defense seemed to be the reason they went on their runs for the most part.

I mean OK, but what's that going to tell you? That Burrow carried the team for the entirety of the regular season and then somebody else stepped up in the playoffs? Why would that be a problem? Or is the argument that the defense, which basically didn't show up much during the season, miraculously shows up in the playoffs?

If we add context to it, its even worse.
Like the 2022 Bengals D played Tyler Huntley at home, an extremely limited Bills offense in the snow, and then lost to Mahomes. The defense did exactly what you thought it would do against two pedestrian offenses (with weather) at that point. It played good but not great.

The 2021 Bengals D played Derek Carr and Ryan Tannehill in the playoffs, then won a pedestrian defensive game against Mahomes.

Like at least 3-4 of their playoff games the last two years, they played average or below average offenses. In some cases, anemic ones.

Na, and please don't make this into a Burrow lovefest in here but he is THAT guy. He erases a lot of the issues they have
