Offensive Coordinator Thread

We should be looking at Hue Jackson. He probably won't be in CLE next year and has already worked with Flacco.

harbs is gambling with his job sticking with these coordinators. i would at least give roman a shot to see if he can show some steady improvement the rest of these games in case we lose out on kubs, hue or whoever else may be available. pees must be replaced at seasons end.

With Flacco at QB? LMAO talk about horrible fit

Seriously. That offense is built upon those WR screens which we have hardly ever used. Also on the rare occasion that we've actually tried to run a WR screen, we've almost always ran it poorly.

Flacco needs an offense that lets him air it out. He can't "dink and dunk" it down the field on a consistent basis.

problem with mcdaniels is he wants a hc job and will most likely land one within 2 seasons so there would be no continuity.
i think he is getting one after this season tbh. I wouldnt be surprised if BB retired after this season and josh take over

Flacco is in his 10 or 11th year and some are still depending on an OC to make him play better? he has been through 4 already and still made bad reads, inaccruate throws and showed signs of low football IQ. Best thing we can do is get a great running game and defense.... only way to help him

Any ideas concerning college coaches that could go to the league?
I asked in the other thread about the likelihood of them moving on but I wouldn't mind to try Fuente (VTech) or Mullen (Mississippi State). Both are under firm contracts though. Mullen has just been extended this year for another 4 and Fuente is in his second year of the contract.

Apart from being good offensive/QB coaches, they both seem to have a good handle on HC roles. College level but still. At some stage they'll get the opportunity.

Ok, thanks, didn't know them, don't really follow college football thoroughly.

And that's where I stumped because I don't really pay much attention to college football either. I just feel we need a younger guy calling the plays.

if i have one criticism of harbs its that he doesnt really have a coaching tree so theres never any long term solutions coming in house - like id love a young coordinator on at least one side of the ball but we havent got anyone nor have we anyone who has developed with us who looks like they might be able to take on that role

now obviously we were right to let rex go and hire john in stead but imagine what would have happened if we'd promoted teryl austin to DC or hue jackson to OC - we might have had them grow for a few years and yes they'd probably both be head coaches by now but surely there'd be more guys coming through under their tutelage - there's a pathway for the good young coaches to follow in house but we dont have any in the building at the moment

bobby engram, joe cullen i think are our newest young coaches and none of them have done particularly well in their roles for me

the one bright spot i think has been chris hewitt - leslie frazier came in and improved this defence but our corners in particular look to be improving this year as well - canady had a great set of first snaps this week, jaylen hill has come on, marlon already looks like a seasoned vet, brandon carr has looked much improved from his cowboys days and jimmy smith is playing at all pro level - the only corner looking diminished on any level is webby who isnt really supposed to be playing corner anyway - that being said our safeties have not been good with hewitt - jefferson has struggled in coverage this year, weddle has struggled more than expected (maybe age rather than coaching there), levine has been good in the dime but not much else, chuck clark has shown nothing in limited snaps, but ironically the safeties has maybe looked best when webby drops into that deep safety role so who knows what's going on

but all this leads to the need to bring in outside voices who naturally arent going to be as ingrained in the ravens style of offence or defence and we have an older coaching staff - there comes a point where we have to take a risk on revamping and getting younger/more creative as a coaching staff too

I want Roman, and I want him yesterday. His WCO is an aggressive, downfield attacking style, one that will get the most out of our team. His run game as we know is brilliant. He's good at using players in space. I want Marty gone, and I really want Roman to be the guy.

What are you doing back?
Anyhow.. Yeah. I'd like Roman. But what do you think about a potential Kubiak return?
