Am I "sure" ? No.
Could we be? Most certainly.
fair enough - i was only arguing semantics at that point

Flacco had amazing playoff runs between the 08'-12' seasons that gained him the moniker of being "January Joe". Kool! The Ravens went on with "January Joe" and won the SB in 12'. But what happened to this so-called "January Joe" in the years that they missed the playoffs (13', 15' 16')? Sure, the Ravens returned to the playoffs in 14' but haven't been the same since then. Now, fast forward to the year 2017.
The Ravens are now 4-5 and could miss out on the playoffs once again if they don't take care of their business going forward. 2017 - 2014 = 3. That's 3 years man! See, you cats tickle me with all of this "January Joe" talk because you're basing your hopes on Joe...first making the playoffs...and then...you assume that if he's there that he'll automatically turn into "Super Joe" because of what he did way back in 08'-12'. Not me!
Oh so in order for your narrative to make sense you have to pretend 14' didn't exist AND assume we dont make the playoffs this year so you can only cite it as 08'-12'. I am sorry but we dont get to twist reality to fit what we want it to be. The reality is we made the playoffs in 2014. The reality is we are the favorites to take that 6th seed in the AFC which means we MAKE the playoffs. Its not like we are in some terrible position we are 1 game back of a bad Bills team that will at best finish 8-8 but with games remaining more than likely 7-9 and the Ravens should have tiebreaker over them anyway.
You want an honest breakdown of playoff picture right now and why you are crazy and why the oddsmakers have us in it lil do it right here. The only team at 5-4 is the Bills who have both there games against the Pats left who they never beat and the Cheifs who are really good and lets be honest they are going to lose 1 of Chargers/ 2 games against Dolphins so 8-8. Then you have the Raiders who I can see with there schedule hitting 9-7 but the Ravens beat them (trust me ill get to why that matters in a sec). The only other team at 4-5 is the Dolphins who also have both Patriot games left and the Cheifs and 2 against Bills but even if they hit 9-7 it probably wont be enough.
That brings us to the Ravens. This week is the Packers without Rodgers which is a favored game. Next week is the remnants of the Texans. Then you have home against Lions which is a 50-50 and road game against Steelers which is probably a loss. Then you have a bad Indy team who the Ravens always beat, a bad Browns team in Cleveland and a bad Bengals team at home. The Ravens are probably favored in 6 of there last 7 and 5 I can say they would win which gets you to 9-7 and as evidenced by what I listed 9-7 gets you to the playoffs.
The Ravens might have made the playoffs a lot from 08-12 but there is a reason that Joe has/had the record for most road wins by a playoff QB and that is that we do not play our best in the regular season but in every one of those years including 2014 which did exist the Ravens won at least 1 game in the playoffs (and for the record they almost missed the playoffs the year they won the Super Bowl).
He did pretty well in 2014. Averaging 275 yards in both games and a 3 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio. Here is what is crazy. Your constantly missing my original point as to why "I" don't call Flacco "January Joe" today in 2017. Joe received that moniker for what he did during the Ravens playoffs runs during the 08' - 12' seasons. Not necessarily from the 14' season that you keep clinging to although he seemed to played fairly well then. My point of view is that just because he had a great run way back then, that doesn't automatically mean that he'll turn into a magical and mystical super hero if or whenever he makes the playoffs. However, that seems to be most Ravens fans perspective. It's just not mine!

Enough with blaming Torrey for that playoff pick. Joe threw a horrible ball to an open receiver. Here's the thing though your perspective is not based in reality, its not based in fact, it's based on the fact that you have a belief and for a lot of people (you in this case) it's easier to just deny simple facts and twist reality around then to admit to yourself you are wrong.
Everything you said wss provably wrong. Joe did not play well his first couple playoffs, like Big Ben he was actually pretty bad at first and being carried by defense. Go look up the statsheet if you want. 2010 he looked okay and 2011 he looked good outplayomg Tom Brady in a loss.
We know he did it again in 2012 but here's the rub he played BETTER im 2014 then 2012. Yes he had the 2 picks but one was Torrey giving up on a route (how was he so bad at tracking the ball) and the other was a desperation heave.
It's funny for all your downplaying of 2014 it was after that that the "January Joe" moniker really took off. After 2012 people were wonderingif Flacco had stepped up and become im that super elite class, but a bad 2013 (good god our rushing game was bad) and a mediocre 2014 made everyone think his play was a fluke UNTIL the playoffs came. Suddenly people started talking about the 2 Flaccos and January Joe took off.

he wasent really open though.
it was pretty much double coverage from the snap.
the safety was like 20 yards deep pre snap towards torrey side of the field.
it was a horrible decision as there where players open in single coverage and there was plenty of time left.
If it's a throw on a line and to the sideline he has him.he wasent really open though.

Looking at stats from January doesn't give the whole picture of "January Joe". He's partly called that because of the alliteration. If he was Bill Flacco he'd be "Big Game Bill" or something, because what the JJ name described was Flacco's ability to play well against the Steelers, the Patriots, in must-win games and in prime time for the first 8 years of his career. He seemed to show up when we needed him.
I put it down to the calm demeanour that drives us crazy when we're losing or trying to run the hurry-up, Joe just never used to change or get flustered in big games whereas people like Dalton, Peyton, Palmer and Romo etc, seemed to fall apart, to a greater or lesser extent.

for nearly an entire season but if he can just get to the playoffs...then he'll automatically morph into this mystical playoff juggernaut in EVERY playoffs that he makes. You may ascribe to that type of logic or thinking but not me!If you want to call Flacco, "January Joe"...do it! And, if I choose not to, which I don't....then that is my prerogative that needs no validation from any other posters. My "belief" as you called it; unlike some Ravens fans (you in particular), is that I don't place my hope or trust in Flacco playing likefor nearly an entire season but if he can just get to the playoffs...then he'll automatically morph into this mystical playoff juggernaut in EVERY playoffs that he makes. exactly. We had enough time to go down the field without taking the deep shot at that point, plus as you stated, we had players open in single coverage.he wasent really open though.

Lol........maybe not the best decision at that point, BUT the pertinent point is that type of pass/play happens dozens of times every year through out the league and the receiver at the least plays defender and knocks the ball down. Torrey screwed up, plain and simple.exactly. We had enough time to go down the field without taking the deep shot at that point, plus as you stated, we had players open in single coverage.
You can believe whatever you want, you can believe the earth is flat, but if you start saying there is evidence to support it and scientists who believe it I'm going to call those lies what they are.
Basically you can have your own opinion but not your own facts and history is based in facts. I can't say "Maybe SF won the SB in 2012" and have it to be an opinion, it's just wrong. First you multiple times tried to pretend 2014 was ancient history when we only had 2 seasons in between. Then you tried to add this one in despite us being the favorites to make the playoffs. Then you tried to pretend he didn't play well in 2014 when that is also provably untrue.
If you want to say Flacco doesn't have a switch he turns on to become great in clutch games that's fine and you are entitled to think that but you cannot pretend that it hasn't happened over and over because then we venture from opinion territory to false territory.
Lol, you serious? You can believe whatever you want, you can believe the earth is flat, but if you start saying there is evidence to support it and scientists who believe it I'm going to call those lies what they are.

Where did you find @K-Dog gif?Initially, I had a rebuttal for all of this foolishness you keep spewing but once I saw your last statement I realized that there's no need.
YOU actually believe that Flacco has a "switch" that he turns on to become great in clutch games? A "switch" that he never seems to turn on in the regular season because he doesn't want to be great then. But Flacco waits until he makes the playoffs and then.....he turns on the "switch" that magically makes him become great in clutch games?
I can't.......
