The Offense Thread

The lions are a very good pass defense at least. If Joe had a field day against that secondary (and not against the Pack or the Texans who aren't any better in that regard) there has to be something.

the lions are not a very good pass defense.

there are 26 teams that have given up lesser yards lol

they are middle of the pack in 1st down given up and and in TD givens up.

if you want the actual rankings at number i can get them , but absolutely nothing screams good lol

nah but you believe a guy who wasent even on the team when marty installed his offense lol
Its nothing to do with being on the team or not. His an ex players analysis of what he sees, which is more likely to be correct than your or mine.

If yours is correct and it wasn't a change in playcalling, this must be the first time you've ever thought flacco played well, have you complimented him yet?

I said he played good after the raiders game , just not great like many tried to argue.
That was after week 5.
good > well.

Anymore baseless assumptions you wanna make?

Also Pitta could not even see the first down marker let alone analyse that he need to be past it on 3rd down to extend a freaking drive as player.

BTW why do i even have to compliment flacco?
he has the highest freaking cap hit in the NFL and is the highest paid player in franchise history.
he is supposed to play like this or at least closed to ........

Yeah, they were OK and at the least probably better than Houston and GB, think they were somewhere about mid pack. They’ve actually dropped to 27th just below those two after playing the Ravens.

I think what’s telling is that things went pretty well even with the sub par play by receivers. Recently that had spelled doom.

Could it actually be that the knee brace messed with his head?

Technically yes.
If anything it is in his subconscious.

"The brace is there. Therefore something is not right" His body, not in it's completely normal state could be compensating for the difference.

It is not out of the question at all.

It's more than technically - it always happens. If the brain gets the signal that something isn't normal (such as the knee brace), it will always send signals to the other parts of body to make them compensate for that abnormality.

to at least show your not biased against him.

Most, not all, have rightly criticised him this season. But when he plays well, not everyone is able to give him some praise.

And im not sure how a question is a baseless assumption but carry on

You assumed this was the first time i ever ( your word not mine ) thought flacco played well and based on that assumption you indeed asked a question.

Simply put your question is based on something you assumed which has been proven to be an incorrect assumption.

It was a pretty retarded assumption as well TBH.
He had far better games then against the raiders and against he lions this season throughout his career.
So if i said he played good against the raiders , you can pretty much assume i gave better praise when he balled in 2012 for instance.....

Also do you always praise people for what they are supposed to do?
I mean the dude gets paid top money.
The least he can do is play well and not like a bottom tier QB.

If this is worth praising then we might as well praise perriman for being active and praise hurst for attempting to make a block.
Heck lets praise every receiver for when they make a catch or praise every defender for every tackle they make........

Did you praise Elam everytime he actually made a tackle?
Or are you only biased towards Flacco?

Honestly the brace could have a huge subconscious affect on Joe. It is like with Drew Brees when he wore gloves a few games in his career and they end up being some of his worst. He usually licks his fingers before snapping each ball. It gets a player into a rhythm and if that is messed up you don't play at 100%. But on the flip side we can't jump to conclusions after one great offensive outing... They have to continue.

im waiting on the rest of the season to judge the brace but just on the eye test alone he looked more comfortable and lighter in the pocket

I agree and he didn't need to show it in Detroit but last week when his brace broke he showed he could run outside the pocket like he did a bit when Kubiak was OC. I hope the positive trend continues.

Ive called flacco iut as much as you have for his bad games this year. Im definitely not biased.

I just like to see those that shit all over him all year actually eat some humble pie and praise him when he performs well.. takes a man to do that. Not a keyboard warrior.

The whole point im making is i think marty called a great game, a guy i want fired

the fact that he only needs to play well for people like you to praise him pretty much says that you are indeed very biased towards him.

playing well is the least he should do based on what he got paid and with how high his cap hit is.

only biased people are okay with a guy getting top tier money and turning in bottom tier performance.

any other player and same people would be screaming bust, cut , over paid and so on......

when flacco plays like top 5 QB on a consistent basis ill be the first to praise him.

Its not his fault he's got a high cap hit. Its not jimmys fault hes got a high cap yet played a full season what twice. It wasn't pittas fault he had a high cap hit. Thats all the front office's fault.

I dont judge players by their cap hit. I judge them by how they perform and flacco did very well on Sunday. Probably his best game all year. So I'll praise that.

If he plays shit this week. I'll criticise that.

Anyway, we're pissing in the wind here. We don't like each other, we're best to leave it

His contract isnt even top 5 anymore, his cap hit is but that is a consequence of delaying it for 3 years and after this offseason his contract will fall a couple spots lower and next offseason a couple spots lower as it becomes each players turn to get paid mega money.
