Home and Away Opponents Set for 2018 Season

Now that this is official and Mahomes is the starter, do we want the Chiefs early in the season where there is no game film to really know what to expect from him? Or do we want the Chiefs mid to late season after there has been weeks of film on him and we know what to expect?

Schedule still scares me. Chargers always play us tough, Raiders will be back, even with Mahomes the cheifs during the regular season, Denver likely to get Cousins, Saints are an offensive powerhouse and now have a good defense, Falcons are still damn good, Carolina is going to be tough as well, Steelers still going to be good and I don't see us beating them, Bengals are only going to get better, Browns might actually get a good QB..
We could be looking at a top 5 pick if we don't make proper upgrades on the offensive side of the ball. And still be in terrible drafting position even if we do.

there'll be no drifting to 8-8, 9-7 in 2018... we'll either sink or swim as a bad team or a good team - we're gonna have to be a good team to get to 10 wins and if we do get the 10 wins and a playoff spot we'll deserve to be there

And it will all depend on Ozzie.
I don't trust him. I'll be blunt. He lost my support entirely last offseason with how he straight up neglected the offensive side of the ball despite ALL of our major needs being on that side of the ball. Last offseason we had one clear cut need(oline) and he ignored it. Decided to upgrade a defense that was already good enough to win a super bowl. Last year in the presser he made it a point on how he wanted to build an elite oline and he did NOTHING.
Defense is fine. Two needs only. ILB and interior pass rusher. Fill those in free agency, pass rushing specialists tend to not be expensive and neither do ILBs. For the first three quarters of almost every game last season our defense was one of the three best units in football.
I don't trust Ozzie to fix this offense. I just don't believe him. I believe Steve WANTS to fix the offense but I'm not sure Ozzie is going to act upon it.

Hmmm. Three years no playoffs. Ozzie has made no real changes to the offense despite the needs being present for the past three years.
Sorry. I've totally lost paitence. I hope he proves me wrong, and he fucking better, but I have my doubts at this point.

I’m leaning the other way. Sounds to me like he’s been given specific plans in no uncertain terms and it may be the greatest challenge The Wiz has faced since the early years. He won’t want to go out “unsuccessfully “. If it can be done I think he will do it!

i prefer him early because if wink is aggressive as he says he will be than it will hopefully force him into bad decisions

steve has spoken and he is pissed. no playoffs next season and the harbs regime is gone and decosta will have his chance to change the way the team drafts and with more exp scouts to be hired hopefully the drafts will produce better results in rounds 2 and 3. if they address the offense and the team can finally stay somewhat healthy for once than they will hang in there with the tough schedule they have. i just hope harbs stops being so aggressive on 4th downs when he has the best kicker in the nfl. collins saved harbs ass when he was able to reverse himself and take it to the endzone. 2 wr's, te, o-lineman for more depth, ilb that can cover te's and we are in business. if we draft guice it would not hurt my feelings. dude is explosive

that's true but also the oline free agent class was appalling and the oline draft class was awful too... not much ozzie can do about that

There were guys that we could’ve gotten for affordable contracts(Larry Warford) along the oline. I get what you’re saying but there were options. There’s no excuse as to why we took a run stuffing DT over keeping the pass rushing One and not upgrading the line.
As terrible as Flacco was in the first half of the season make no mistake, our failures last season can be put on Ozzie’s shoulders as well with the shit supporting cast around him. Drops at crucial moments, pressure in the face of Flacco in less than ideal movements.
I’m a fan of the plan itself, but how well is it going to be executed? For all we know Ozzie decides to trade for Brandon Marshall coming off of an injury keeps Jensen and he calls that “addressing the offense”. Then we go all defense.... again.
We need a total overhaul with recievers and two more olinemen. I doubt he is going to pull this off after last offseason and the offseason prior.
i count 2016 in the plan. More like a 3 yr plan
steve bisciotti seems to count 2015 and 2014 also in the plan... more like a 5 year plan...

i know he didnt say it but he did say he considered it so what do you think will happen if they fail to make it again. just have to read between the lines. i like harbs so i hope they figure it out and hope the front office can bring in the weapons needed to make it happen

And we've made no offensive improvements thus far.. We tried Perriman and Maxx, and had success with Stanley... But NO other successes or attempts thus far. I am fully expecting disappointment again.
Again, after last season Ozzie has lost my trust completely.
i think the 2015 draft is a testament to not forcing offensive picks when they aren't there to be made... we went and got 2 guys on offence at positions of need when it seems like the better available prospects were on the defensive side of the ball
