Preseason and real game time doesn’t compare. Too many preseason / camp favorites, never pan out.

exactly and we've seen canady be successful in the season with little preparation too - he'd have to stink up the next two preseasons as well as the entire 2018 regular season itself this year to be in any real roster jeopardy
 
Canady is too versatile for me to see him get cut. He's played outside corner, slot, safety and special teams. Doesn't seem to be another guy on the roster bringing that to the table.

I don't think so. Canady is a hybrid DB. You can line him up everywhere. Outside, Nickel, FS and ST. As a 6th rounder he's also cheap.

We have a lot of depth now so i’m not factoring in the fact that he can play other positions. He probably won’t get anytime at safety. Tavon is coming back. I see him on the outside and i just don’t see this great player you guys are making him to be. I could be wrong and i probably am but he’s not safe imo

this is the only thing i’m thinking may be on his side but i also look at it like how many have those ota and preseason favorites actually got a chance ?

Maybe he’s not a great player (quite likely) but he’s certainly a good one and that in and of itself is hard enough to find and he impacts the roster positively on game day

They see them during practice everyday. If he doesn’t blow you out of the water, the player doesn’t deserve to replace a quality player who as @rossihunter2 stated, impacts the roster in a positive manner.
 
I think Nick Boyle might be a lot safer than most think. Enough that I think he will edge out Maxx if Maxx doesn't dominate the preseason.
