2018 Roster

JoeyFlex5

Hall of Famer
Redzone-
5 OL
Lamar in shotgun
Collins at RB
all 4 TEs with maxx as the h-back
Andrews flexed to the slot

Swap Boyle with Crabtree and flex him wide for when you wanna isolate a weak corner on the outside, slide Andrews inline.

Option with Jackson and Collins will be terrifying in the redzone

To have that option with 8 quality blockers in the box even scarier. To have 3 of those 8 quality blockers be able to run a route and body up with strong hands Is even scarier. To add a 4th big body receiver wide and isolated, while a generational running qb is at the helm of all this is a literal nightmare.

We have built a very interesting identity. Jackson won't need to beat teams with just his arm, the threat of a run and our 2 way TEs can really make moves and open throwing lanes out of fear

Running QBs do not hold up. You are going to want Lamar who can escape ala Rodgers and Luck because otherwise he won't hold up.

The one thing I hope Lamar copies from Vick is Vick's pump fake. Vick would screw with defenders so badly by faking a throw even when he was five or ten yards past the line of scrimmage. And it would almost always cause a defender to freeze up.

In general, Eagle's Vick is what I hope Jackson becomes. A top tier escape artist that will burn a defense that sends too many people to contain him with big throws.

I'd love to see this in action!

guys i don't see john brown being anything more than an inactive tbh

he's looked totally broken down over the past two years so i'd press the brakes on any john brown hype. 1 good season isn't that special in the nfl.

Because luck can definitely hold up!

That sort of is my premise. They are not even mobile QBs and they are not holding up. Granted Luck has a historically bad OLine and Rodgers has always had an awful one but there is no way a running QB holds out.

QB: Flacco, RG3, Jackson

RB: Collins, Dixon, Buck

FB: Ricard

WR1: Crab, Scott

WR2: Brown, Moore, Lasley

WR3(slot): Snead, White

TE1: Hurst, Andrews

TE2: Boyle, Maxx

LT: Stanley, Hurst

LG: Lewis, Siragusa

C: Skura, Bozeman

RG: Yanda, Eluemenor

RT: Brown Jr, Hurst

wow... that OL really doesnt look bad at all.

WOLB: Suggs, Bowser

ILB1: Mosley, Correa

ILB2: Bradley(makes a leap), Onwuasor, Young

SOLB: Judon, Williams, Smith

DE: Urban, Wormley

NT: Pierce, Davis

DT: Williams, Henry

CB1: Jimmy, Carr

CB2: Humphrey, Averett

CB3/Nickel: Young, Hill

FS: Weddle, Elliott

SS: Jefferson, Clark

Dimebacker: Levine, Clark

this is actually an exciting roster. say young and averett do well, averett could have been a third round pick, if he cleans up his hands and his grabbies, he can be a steal, he reminded me of cary williams from the first time i watched him and ill gladly take that in the fourth. Kenny Young looks like a more excited arthur brown on film, which means he plays fast, VERY fast, if he is passionate about football unlike brown and can process things mentally, he could be the coverage answer at ilb we need. worst case, our starting roster has 1 weak spot on defense, at ILB2, and we have some good depth everywhere but the LB

on offense, just adding a RT and having another depth piece in bozeman, and getting back siragusa healthy will make our OL a lot less terrifying for us, we no longer have to worry about 5 players changing position if one starter gets hurt, thats huge, having a backup at their natural position at all 5 spots, except for LT and hopefully stanley stays on the field.

and for the future... boy how different things look. we once again neglected to address the WR corps properly, but we have weapons, hurst and andrews are excellent additions and assuming lamar becomes the starter he will love those guys, but we are gonna need a real deal legit weapon at wr for jackson if we ever expect him to play well. the defense in general is set for the future, we still need a future FS, ILB, and maybe a CB, but we should be set overall. now on offense, we have to hope collins continues and can do this for a good few years, we have to replace yanda and find a C, but we still need future WRs, i dont believe in the ones we drafted, but hell maybe they surprise.

this is the first time ravens fans have reason for excitement in quite some time. i like it.
Great list with a few exceptions in my opinion.
I don't know if Ricard will make it because one of the 3 blocking TEs will play the role of a fullback. Roster spots are at a premium right now. They will carry 4 TEs of who Hurst, Boyle and Williams can all block. So, I think Ricard will be cut. I also don't think Correa will make it. About Bradley I think he may indeed make a leap this year, but not so Correa. The pro game is still hard for him because he thinks too much on the field and is therefore slow to the ball.I don't think Hill makes it to the 53. Instead he'll be put on the PS or put on the PUP list just in case we may need an extra CB later down the road. I also think Tim White makes the roster as our punt returner. Kaufusi will be gone or put on the PS if needed.

Ricard will make it. He's one heck of a football player.
I would say Ricard even has a better chance of making it than Maxx. Both are good blockers, but Ricard has more versatility and even adds depth to our d-line on top of his FB play.

I've been on sabbatical but since this thread exists and roster construction is my football porn, I feel compelled to give my thoughts here before I disappear again.

QB (2): Flacco, Jackson

In the other thread, I mentioned that RG3 probably has a really good chance but pre-training camp before any injuries, I have to leave him off. He's probably my 54th and I think there's a strong likelihood he makes it despite him not being in my 53 right now.

RB (4): Collins, Allen, Dixon, Ricard

Not too much question here right now for me. I don't think Ricard has much to worry about as he was a monster as a lead blocker. Maybe one of the UDFAs surprises but at this point, I'd guess they're more likely to be PS guys.

WR (6): Crabtree, Brown, Snead, Scott, Lasley, Moore

Put me in the group that doesn't think Moore is in much danger. This is a team where the last few spots are decided on ST ability and Moore might be a top 5 guy in the league right now. Tim White is the other option here but I want to see how the potentially new kickoff rules impact things.

TE (3): Hurst, Andrews, Williams

I'm leaving Boyle and Mayle off, but they could just as easily be on. I think Williams has turned into a better blocker and a better H-Back than Boyle. I'll never discount a pure STer like Mayle.

OL (9): Stanley, Lewis, Skura, Yanda, Hurst, Brown, Eluemunor, Siragusa, Bozeman

Senat goes to the PS. I'm curious to see how Siragusa recovers (if he's even participating) because this is a place where another roster spot could be opened.

DL (6): Williams, Pierce, Henry, Urban, Wormley, Sieler

This is just a "something has to give" spot. If an injury doesn't factor, someone has to go because this team can't afford to have 7 spots (and 2 weekly inactives) on the DL, especially with Ricard in the fold. Davis is the odd man out here to me right now, but if Sieler needs work and they think he'll clear waivers, that's an option too.

ILB (4): Mosley, Onwuasor, Young, Bradley

The KC experiment officially ends as Young swaps in his place. There was a lot of talk that Bradley would have worked his way into being a starter last year if he hadn't been injured, from Ravens reporters. I'll stick by them still really liking him.

OLB (5): Suggs, Judon, Bowser, Williams, Smith

Not too many questions here. Despite the disdain for ZDS, I don't think he's in much danger. Like I've said at other positions, I won't completely discount McClellan's chances but I think they're holding onto him in case on injury since he can fill in at all 4 LB spots in an emergency.

CB (6): Smith, Humphrey, Carr, Young, Canady, Averett

Hill goes to the PUP. I don't think there are too many questions here beyond Jimmy being ready for the season. It seems like that will be the case, though.

S (5): Weddle, Jefferson, Clark, Elliott, Levine

Levine is the ST captain and spent a lot of time in the dime last year. I think he's safe for now but to me, this is the most volatile position on the roster with Canady able to play S. Could be the RG3 spot or 4th TE spot. I'm interested in seeing Nacua but think he's likely a PS guy at best.

ST (3): Tucker, Koch, Cox

No comments needed.

So basically, guys I have off that could just as easily be on: Robert Griffin, Tim White, Nick Boyle, Vince Mayle, Carl Davis, Kamalei Correa, Albert McClellan, and Kai Nacua. 61 guys for 53 spots. I would expect a UDFA or 2 to push their way onto this list, but not counting on them at this time.

Everyone knows perriman is due 650k on the 3rd day of TC. So if he’s kept beyond that date, is it pretty much guarantee he makes the 53? I find it hard to believe they’ll cut him after paying him that much.
