Next Up: @ Bucs

If Bucs beat us after getting whooped on by PJ Walker and the Mccaffey-less Panthers.. burn it all down.
Keep in mind that the Steelers got their asses kicked thoroughly by the Bills. Following week, they managed to beat the Bucs. Anything can happen.

I have a cardiac stress test happening in about 45 minutes. Wonder if I can just ask them to reschedule for 8:15 tonight lol
Cant we just have a 37-7 Ravens win. These games have been brutal. The worst one IMO was the Dolphins comeback.

Even if we lose (which I think we will), I think there's a slight consolation prize for the time being (assuming we get out of this game relatively healthy which..............LMAO). If the Bengals win, we still are in the thick of the Wild Card hunt for now. If the Browns win, at least it's another week of being in the division lead.

Fam. What is going on here????

We going to Tampa for a DUB
We are going to move to 5-3 with the win and to sweeten the deal Eric is going to make a high impact trade on the long week.

If EDC makes a move I would not mind more OLB help. A shake up there would be nice. The offense I am fine with at this point, need to get out of own way there mostly.

I have the exact opposite opinion. OLB is about to be a completely crowded room starting like next week. The offense has a fundamental WR issue.

For the sake of argument, lets say we traded for a top receiver in todays league. Awesome, EDC just managed a HEIST and we brought in Justin Jefferson and paired him with our current core.

Jefferson, Bateman, Duv

Do you think our offensive concepts would change enough to utilize that trio? Or do you think we are going to jump out the gate in a 22 personnel and continue with RPO's

Nope, not a chance. For starters, Duvernay would rarely see targets, much like the current #3 target in the offense doesn't see many targets when Bateman and Andrews are healthy.

Second, even if we could, theoretically, do scheme changes, they're not happening mid-season. If we ended up with a high end player (which we won't), we would make scheme changes in the offseason to mold them into the offense.

The benefit to adding a high end player is somebody who can a) create space in the passing game, b) win contested catches, c) eliminate double teams on guys like Andrews and d) be super valuable in the playoffs or in games where other teams stop us from running the ball and force us to throw.

I'd love said player here, but I don't want to pay FA/trade prices to get it. Want it through the draft, and give the team a whole offseason to incorporate into the offense.

BUT, I also agree that, pending some significant injuries, adding more OLB pass rushers probably doesn't make sense. It's already going to be a heavy rotations when guys like Bowser and Ojabo get back, and anybody you acquire would probably be a 50% snap player or less.

ILB is an area where I could definitely see a cheaper addition, as well as Dline or Corner. WR is an option, but it won't be an expensive, high-end player, I don't think.

I would fucking hope so. I keep saying this but I actually mean it. When during GRos tenure with Ravens has he had 3 NFL caliber WRs?

2019 we were running Hollywood, Snead, and Seth Roberts. I guess these are 3 people who should be in the league but it's an uninspired group and actually an effective one lol. But I think it's largely due to that being a year where the league hadn't been ready yet for Lamar.

2020 we had Hollywood, Snead, and Boykin Lmfao. SAD.

2021 we had Hollywood, Bateman, Watkins, and Duv. Unfortunately this year was squandered by injuries.

Really last year was the only time that we actually had some quality at the group and then it all disappeared.

Crazy idea, but here me out..... Roman could adjust the offense......

Why? We already did it once in 2018 with Marty/Lamar

Fans assuming we couldn't properly utilize high-end talent if Eric went after them is pretty sad. Unfortunately, this is how far we've fallen with Greg Roman at the helm. I think back to 2018 at the challenge Mornhinweg faced going from a Flacco-led offense to Lamar mid-season. A more difficult challenge than incorporating a WR into our current rotation. Yet we pulled it off. It was a complete overhaul of the offense, with Baltimore looking nothing like it did with Flacco under center. We shifted from a high-volume passing attack to a heavily run-centric one without skipping a beat. Complete shift both in scheme and identity.
