Lamar Jackson

Its a tough one.. Russ has been a top qb his whole career and it seems like he hasnt gotten his respect till this season. He has always been better than luck and if you take him off that team they would be terrible. Its a good debate though between him and lamar but right now id give it to russ

Yeah... people act like I'm trying to devalue Lamar. What Russ has been doing the past two season is insane though. I type that as DJ Jones just stole that centers soul. If not for Russ I'd be leading the charge for Lamar. I'd rather Lamar take home the trophy this year and an OPOY award.

oh i dont think that at all - i know you're not throwing shade at lamar lol - just debating philosphically about their value that's all

and yeah that 49ers defensive front is insane - DJ Jones might be the least talented player on that front 4

For the peace of the board I'll leave this alone.

I think our current team is better than the Seahawks if you simply take away the qbs. I think you grab random qb off any team they would rather play on ours. We have a better roster.
As much as you may try to rationalize Wilson's candidacy over Lamar, I still believe the Ravens are more dependent on Lamar for their victories and he does more to carry his team. My opinion not necessarily undebatable.

I think you'll realize Lamar is a better QB when he faces these very Niners. Wilson seems flummoxed by them and out of sorts entirely with the pressure. I don't believe the Niners D will affect Lamar that adversely because he can do a lot more and they'll have to respect that part of his game.

they also need an offensive analyst because their personnel this year has all been wrong for their success and part of that is down to the njoku injury but they really should have been playing a lot less 11 personnel even with their wr group
please Browns, don't make any changes. Keep Kitchens as long as the Bengals kept Lewis.

you really could call this either way

there's almost a part of me that wonders if they just lined up landry or odell in-line on a consistent basis would they then start running the same sorts of plays as when they had njoku last year and would it make them better lol - they're hardly using odell as it is so why not pretend he's a tight end lol

It absolutely will be interesting to see how this happens. Although Wilson had to play the Niners in San Francisco, he got bailed out by the defense, because that interception he through could have sealed their fate.

i started off skeptical mostly because i wasnt 100% sure we were getting a qb but i was 100% sure we werent getting any of the other 4 guys with our first pick (and if Allen had dropped i didnt want him anyway) but with every game i saw things that got me buying in more and more and i realised that i wasnt worried about anything athletic or mechanical with him - his arm strength was good, when he threw on the run his mechanics were sound so there was a clear pathway to better mechanics as a passer in the pocket too and that made me more comfortable with him - but the 2 traits that made me fall in love with him as a prospect:

1) the way he moved in the pocket was magical with that poise and efficient movements - always looking smooth and in control
2) the way he read the field from inside the pocket hi-low in a pro-style passing game in a scheme that relied on him to make decisions and understand and manipulate what the defence was giving him

and having had flacco as the only ravens qb ive ever known those 2 things had me falling for lamar more and more as a prospect - i was heart-broken when i thought we'd passed on him at 25 for Hurst, and when we traded back in at 32 I literally couldn't believe we'd done something so bold
Definitely see what you mean with everything said here.

Jimmy g also got bailed out by hawks dropping game winning ints.. at the end of the day, only wins matter. I think we are all getting stuck on this MVP thing and forgetting what matters most. Russ is a better Qb than lamar and is also a SB winner. I just dont want this mvp thing to mess up our minds lol. Next thing you know we gonna be saying lamar is better than rodgers

If after this game people still think Wilson is the MVP over Lamar Jackson it's just glossing over reality. In my mind there is not an iota of doubt in my mind that Lamar Jackson will be league MVP if he continues the way he's played for 2 more weeks. If he wins the next 2 games, it should erase all doubt.

I think that today it would be an extremely close vote between Lamar and Russell with some votes getting split off to CMC and DW. That said, any of those four guys could put together a 3 game stretch at the end of the year to seal it.

I think Lamar is the most talented player of the 4, he just has to do it for the rest of the season with 2 or 3 more signature plays. The other 3 guys have been doing it for a while so consistency is going to be the name of the game for our boy.

Honestly, if both Lamar and Wilson continue to ball out for the rest of the season then they could just give out Co-MVPs. You take either one off their team and who knows if they win another game (I think we're in a much better position to do so, but it would still be very different).

no questions wins matter the most and it isn't even close.

I wouldn't say you are wrong but I would still expect Russel to take the MVP as I believe each voter cannot vote for a co-MVP so it would have to organically end up in a tie and I just do not see that happening especially with how absolutely insane Russel has been.

Yeah, Wilson is definitely the front-runner right now, but we'll see what happens if he has a bad couple of games and Lamar continues to make dazzling plays like he did against the Bengals. I could also see McCaffrey getting some votes even though I highly doubt he wins.

IF Lamar can do to the Jets what he did to the Dolphins and Bengals (as in have a perfect passer rating) which is a tall order then I think he can lock it up, just on the historical nature of being the only QB in NFL history to have 3 perfect passer ratings in one season. Short of that I think Wilson needs to have a bad game and despite the Seahawks being overall a pretty below average team, I just do not see that happening.
