Lamar Jackson

I agree with you half sure, but the organization always committed there blueprint to him. We build the 1st and 4th best rushing offense ever, asked him what wr he wanted and got him (hollywood), spent another first on Bateman, attempted to trade for Hopkins, poured assets into wr and online, signed a multi million fullback, extended his best option Andrews and so so much more.

I hate the narrative we failed Lamar. were we perfect? No. Is it fair for fans to be upset that we have no idea what is going on - wether he really doesn't heal well from injuries, or is upset about the contract? I think yes.

To me, this injury feels like a lose lose. Either he is abnormally slow at recovering from injuries, or he is better and doesn't want to play. neither of that news can be good.
All this because we wouldn’t up the ante on Hopkins. That’s what it boils down to. It would’ve been Hopkins or maybe Queen and Bateman and Calais. Looking at it now I would’ve preferred hop to all of them no question. And if you asked me back then I’d have said the same.

If we had pulled the trigger on hop then literally nobody is saying we failed him, because we don’t give a shit about what we ultimately got by not trading for him, and we’re right for it. We’d have been a better team with Hopkins vs WHOEVER we got as a result of not trading.

I thought it came out that Bill O’Brian didn’t want to trade him within the conference?

if he waits until the start of training camp it hurts us in 2023
if we want this team to be competing for a super bowl in 2023 then we need to get him signed in the next couple of months

it's in his interest to wait for another couple of deals
it's in the ravens best interest to get it done before free agency

ravens would have to be super confident that lamar would sign a long-term deal before July when the negotiating window ends and he's on the tag - not sure the ravens can risk that so it'll have to be a supremely quiet free agency period just in case
The likelihood is he signs in the offseason. My instincts tell me he wants to get it done so he can chill and focus on football. I'm sure he is unhappy about how the season ended this year. He won't let it happen again.

Didnt perriman have a pcl injury and miss the whole season with us?
yes he had a grade 2 pcl sprain

now that we know it's a grade 2 pcl sprain no on the border of a grade 3. No way he could make it back this season. If he were to make it back this season he would be a very quick healer.

I believe we were originally told it was a grade 1 pcl sprain

I think they are very close and he'll sign the deal before the start of training camp. Or do you think he decides to wait for what Burrow and the Bungles do?
If he waited til Burrow signed and if it's this season, not only would it hurt us in free agency, but it wouldn't help him. It's not like Mike Brown is going to be dishing out a fully guaranteed contract.

This confirmed what I always suspected. I never bought into the "Lamar is quiet quitting" or whatever narrative. I just thought this injury was worse than what was told and even Harbs couldn't definitively said.

I thought I was reading into it, but if you watch that clip of Harbaugh telling him to hug Huntley after the game, it looked like he was still limping around. I think it was the Falcons game.

thanks man - i love the discussion in the draft thread
