Lamar Jackson

My thing about Burrow is he and the media and their fans thought they were all the shit when he threw a bunch of touchdowns on our practice squad defense, and then the lesbian said we talk a lot of trash. Yea bitch, cuz we own you when our defense is healthy. Don’t talk shit when our defense is handicapped

Nahhh man, let them talk their shit, they will have to eat their words soon enough

Also we rested a lot of players in 2019 because we were smashing teams, that didn't work out well did it?
Tbf, both Ingram and Andrews got hurt in week 16. What if we didn't rest our starters in week 17 and a few key players got hurt to the extent that they couldn't play in the playoffs? I honestly didn't it played a role tbh.

We need a new backup qb. I’ll be disgusted if we go into a season with an almost guanrteeded chance Huntley starts at least one game
He was bad in Greg’s scheme and would be far worse trying to pass to the sidelines

I think last year was his worst year but we all know that Huntley wasn't really 100 percent healthy either but at the same time you can't argue that The Ravens have found ways to win games with him as their starting quarterback. Up until that fumble in the playoffs against The Bengals the guy was playing pretty solid. Might have been his best game of the season actually. Not sure why people keep thinking Huntley wont' be a good fit in Monken offense though

What do you mean? Huntley has no arm strength. It's not even a question of whether he does a good or bad job throwing deep balls. He doesn't throw them. Then even in intermediate routes which he "can" throw, if they're to the sidelines, we've seen his receivers have to wait forever for the ball to get there. This has caused multiple interceptions. Not because it wasn't the right mental move but because Huntley doesn't have the arm to make the plays.

Huntley is actually a great guy, competitor, and probably pretty decent seer of the field. But physically he's so unbelievably lacking, he can't play QB at the required level for the NFL.

And please don't come back with he keeps us in games or some stuff like that. His win loss is atrocious and the defense and run game have kept us in games. The drop-off between Lamar and Huntley in the same cucked GRo offense is 11 points differential if I remember correctly. That's ASTRONOMICAL.

Monken's offense is going to be a lot more 11 personnel, with more sophisticated route concepts. Huntley doesn't have the arm to do it.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think any team looks to have a backup that they expect to be on par as a full time starter. They just don’t invest a big chunk into a guy that hopefully never sees the field.

I agree with @Sandtown, Huntley played with a bad shoulder in pretty much all of his games last year and hung in there. And I’m not sure there’s a better option out there. I just don’t see the team going out of their way to replace him.

No one said you expect your backup to be as good as your starter.

Huntley has always been bad, Tendinitis or not.

There are always going to be better options (potentially) including 2 guys on the team right now in AB, and JJ.

Guarantee that QB2 and QB3 are very much open competitions right now. Huntley might prove he's better than AB this year in camp and make the team. But there's no way that he's a lock first of all and no guarantee he's not going to be QB3 behind JJ.

Also he's too expensive at his level of player from the tender to really be a long term backup. So even if he makes the team this year, I'd expect the team to move on from him 2024.

I mean the going rate for a good vet backup is like 5x what huntleys getting paid

And the ravens were looking at paying someone this offseason so they clearly agree that it’s worth it

Tbf apparently JJ has been bad so far lol (as have all the backups)

I see your point but the 3 good quarters aginadt the bengals was one of the most dangerous points of revisionist history we could face. Huntley was AWFUL for most of the end of the season. Did we win some games with him? Yes- however any game we won was a product of the rest of the team being dominate. 2020 he was eletric at times- believe me I sat through the freezing cold packers game. But while Roman’s passing game limited deep throws, Huntley literally can’t complete more than 1/10 open players streaming down the field.

I’ve watched him twice in game ups and Sam Koch literally throws better arch on 35 yard + passes it’s crazy.

I love what Huntley did and he’s perfect for keeping the old run game strong. Keeping Huntley after retooling the entire wr core would be a complete waste of offseason capital

Guessing all teams look for competition at QB2, never know what may pop up.

Just a guess, but if his shoulder is good I don’t think Tyler is going anywhere. As you mentioned, he’s inexpensive, and would seem to be a good value.
