and especially since Lamar can elevate the talent around him.And for the record... average WR group is totally fine. Exactly what I would want with a highly paid QB and a bunch of other positions highly paid.
For nowFor this season alone, Tua has been the best QB in the league. It's not really that close either.
#1 in comp %, #2 in TD%, #1 in YPA, #2 in YPC, #1 in Passer Rating, #4 in QBR.
His INT rates are higher than I would like, but they're also on-par with guys like Mahomes and better than Josh Allen's.
Even if you add in Lamar's rushing stats to the equate, Tua still has more yards, more TDs and less turnovers.
I mean outside of completion % (which Lamar is actually really close to him on) there is a sizable gap between their stats that seems a little much to make up barring injury. 480 passing yards and 7 TDs is a pretty sizable lead on those stats, to the point where even after they have their bye week first he will almost certainly still be ahead. The completion % is only .2% so that is basically one bad week from Tua to catch him. I dont imagine the Ravens will be adding a full Y/A (or basically 2 to catch up to Tua) over the course of the year as it is not like 8.1 is bad.For now
If you factor in the rushing stats for Lamar, which everybody should and would 100% be considered as part of an MVP conversation, the delta shrinks considerably. You would look at total yardage, total touchdowns, total turnovers, etc, since QB mobility is a huge part of modern NFL QB play.I mean outside of completion % (which Lamar is actually really close to him on) there is a sizable gap between their stats that seems a little much to make up barring injury. 480 passing yards and 7 TDs is a pretty sizable lead on those stats, to the point where even after they have their bye week first he will almost certainly still be ahead. Now lets be clear I attribute a lot of this to having the best WR in football and a top 10WR as your 2nd WR and having a top 3 RB (I think Mostert does not get enough respect from people). However being able to take full advantage of your weapons is part of being a great QB.

There 16th in passing again medicore not good nor badIt's odd that you can't at least answer that question. I have the numbers in front of me, but I'm making an effort to let you support your own bad opinion first.
I agree, and if we were ranking MVPs I have Tua 3rd to Mahomes and Lamar in that order, but I was more referencing the "for now" aspect which implies Lamar was going to catch Tua in those categories listed when it really is unlikely to happen in almost all of them. I would be thrilled if it did because it would imply the Ravens are 12-2 at that point but it is very unlikely. If you factor in the rushing stats for Lamar, which everybody should and would 100% be considered as part of an MVP conversation, the delta shrinks considerably. Tua is still ahead in all categories, but it's not as wide of a gap as you would think.
OK, that's not close to bottom 10 though. There 16th in passing again medicore not good nor bad

Mediocre passing is completely fine. Especially when you consider volume, which is what really matters. Teams that throw it less tend to have less yardage (duh).
If you were to factor in yards/attempt, which is a better metric, since it accounts for the volume of passing, Ravens are 3rd.
Passing yards itself is largely meaningless. It's not a reflection of anything, nor does it correlate with team success. Jared Goff threw for 284 yards on Sunday. That's a good day, right? Very few of those yards were meaningful in any way.
Yeah your right passing stats dont reflect anything, we have a good wr but hes a rookie, and the rest are medicore, which is a middle wr groupMediocre passing is completely fine
Right, which is totally fine. As I said, probably half the league would rather have our WRs than there's. Mahomes is on that list. I could make a case Josh Allen is on that list too.Yeah your right passing stats dont reflect anything, we have a good wr but hes a rookie, and the rest are medicore, which is a middle wr group
Agreed. Same thing as Marlon Brown. He had 7 TDs on like 50 catches in 2013. Half the fanbase thought he was the next big thing.I would also add that it is a very poor metric with which to judge the quality of skill position players. The person I like to cite for this is Kamar Aiken as Ravens fans are familiar with him. For those who are not, he was a career low end number 4 WR at best who in 2015 caught 950 yards because he was the only WR healthy and SOMEONE had to catch the ball.
Yeah I can agree with mahomes but making a cash for josh allen when he clearly has better talent. Mahomes is on that list. I could make a case Josh Allen is on that list too.
Gabe Davis is a JAG. He's not a better WR than Flowers or OBJ, and is probably on par with Bateman.Yeah I can agree with mahomes but making a cash for josh allen when he clearly has better talent
top 7 wr, gabe davis is better then what the ravens have
I know you're a ravens fan probably but bias aside theres literally nothing that makes obj better than davis, he also is a #2 and has better stats then any recievers on the ravensGabe Davis is a JAG. He's not a better WR than Flowers or OBJ, and is probably on par with Bateman.
Good to know I'm not the only one constantly mixing these Mcs and Macs up.almost like he's playing college ball down there in Miami. Credit McDonald.
this is absolutely correct, but it also could have made it more difficult to get open since there was no one else. In this case I would think it was more the former vs the latterI would also add that it is a very poor metric with which to judge the quality of skill position players. Are you looking at just one year of stats or totally of stats? I mean historically, OBJ has much, much, much better stats than Davis. They're miles apart. The difference is OBJ lost two years to injury, and then subjectively assessing whether that puts him below Davis or not. Davis' stats are not impressive by any means.I know you're a ravens fan probably but bias aside theres literally nothing that makes obj better than davis, he also is a #2 and has better stats then any recievers on the ravens
but imo its clearly diggs>zay>davis>any other ravens wr
but who cares the rushing attack is 3rd and will elevate if the ravens get henry
actually I'm not mixing up mac and mc. I'm mixing up the miami coach for Mcdonald, instead of his actual name....McDaniel.Good to know I'm not the only one constantly mixing these Mcs and Macs up.
