The Offseason Thread

Damn, what a radical concept. If an offensive line plays well it helps the QB and the offense play better. Next thing you know someone will say that having good receivers helps too.

How can you call him a dumbass? He has mastered the highly complex wing T offense in only one season in the NFL.

Lamar is a child who was raised on social media and made it out of poverty on talent and work ethic alone. To call him a dumbass for doing something silly or not having an extensive vocabulary is to reveal jealousy and the need to tear others down due to one’s own impotence. (Not you, others.)

That said, this is a message board and it’s a free country so have at it lol.

You can be a dumbass for doing something silly. It's hyperbole. If you asked how many people here sincerely think Lamar has below average intelligence it would be few.

So we're not allowed to be objective? David Lee Roth acts like a dumbass but is quite intelligent. Lamar is a dumbass, period :)

Just defending my guy against pot shots on the inter webs. I don’t think Lamar is winning any academic achievement awards any time soon either and he certainly does boneheaded things...I’m just not big on insults.

Folks have every right to make them, I just like to provide positive support and quell negativity.

remember before the draft when no one here wanted to draft him ( i do) and everyone was calling him a dumbass?
Esp after his pre draft interview?

It's okay to be a dumbass.
Just don't be a dumbass that makes you a detriment to the team.

There's a fine line between the two.

A bit sensitive aren’t we? Let’s just hope Lamar has thicker skin then you. He is going to need it. Starting QB’s in the NFL are the most scrutinized athletes in the world. He will be criticized, vilified, and be under the microscope for the remainder of his career. The best way to silence the masses is to be great. And oh yeah, don’t do stupid shit.

I actually was fine with drafting him, UNTIL i saw that red carpet interview.

But seeing him since then, it seems he was really nervous in that interview, he’s not nearly as dumb sounding on a regular basis as he was when he was talking to Michael Irvin

He's dumb. Doesn't mean he can't be successful for us but

he's dumb.
Just don't be dumb to the detriment of the team.

That is all.

let us affectionately say

''he's our dumbass'' :)

I certainly wanted to draft him and was ok taking him at 16. I know there were others as well, but won't speak for them.

The dude went 6-1 in his first 7 starts EVER and took us to the playoffs with the same team that Joe was 4-5 with. He has as many playoff appearances in his one year as Joe had in his 5 after the superbowl. Can't be all that dumb

Being successful ( or not) in the win column ( in the NFL) has nothing to do with intelligence.

I have been an earl thomas fan his whole career.. was a big fan of LOB before they even started getting hype.. with that being said, im kinda worried if we overpaid or not.. i mean he is 30 and got a long injury history.. even with his contract situation with hawks, he was still going out crushing shit and giving everything he got.. i just hope all those injuries dont catch up to him

i mean that's just not true - i 100% wanted him - even potentially at 16

and he's just quite clearly not stupid - he's just clever in different ways - and his brain processes certain information a lot quicker than you or I would or could ever process information in the same way...

you can speak for yourself on that one lol
