Training Camp and the Preseason

You know what sucks... he could pull off the greatest run in nfl history, and it would do nothing to dispel the “qB pLaYiNg Rb” bullshit.
You are absolutely right. However, this young man is a Raven, so screw the rest of the world! Lamar Jackson has an open invitation at my house for a few beers anytime he wants.

Jackson watched practice film in between day one and day two practices with Philadelphia. This sure seems like a guy that will spill his guts trying to do his job better.

Just the way the beat writers talked about how much better the offence was on day 2 against the eagles it was obvious that he’d sussed out whatever their defence had been doing to him on day 1 - but for him to have done that via the film room for a practice session is awesome

The kid is all football all the time. You love to see it. With this kind of work ethic just think about what we’re going to see game-over-game and year-over-year as he gets more experience against different schemes.

Yea well the Pat's did and they continue to be the gold standard of the league. The funny thing is it's not rocket science I'd make the same moves. I was called crazy to even suggest we draft Bailey then the Pat's draft him in the 5th even tho they have a solid punter already. They accounted for the cap knew what they had and how valuable the position is. These other teams are playing checkers while the Pat's are playing chess.
There is no doubt in terms of success, there is the Pats and there is everyone else.

However, I think there are other franchises who are in the same conversation as the Pats in terms of how well their organization is run. The difference between them and everyone else in terms of success may boil down to a single fact: They have Brady and the other well run organizations don't.

Pats in a post-Brady world will be very interesting to see ... I just have to wonder if that era will include Belichick or if they both go off into the sunset together. If Belichick bows out at the same time, the Pats of the 2020s could be the Green Bay Packers of the 1970s.

You'll continue to hear about how running QBs are not a recipe for success when talking about Lamar ... all the way until his talents translate to lots of wins AND post-season success.

Of course, that will only happen if he really does develop as a passer. I think we are seeing real encouraging signs that it will happen. If he does that and sprinkles in these jaw dropping explosive runs, he'll be a phenom that will not be able to be ignored.

I think his accuracy up to 15 yds is tremendous. If he can get the deep going then oh my gosh. Right now we're gonna see a lot of 8-9 men in the box until he can loosen them up plus we really need some goods yac out of our receivers on short throws

thread of clips of Patrick Mekari:

I think Eluemunor is gonna be starting for this team touchwood his injurys not a problem
- but i think if there's going to be a surprise roster decision at the bottom of the 53 it would be that maybe bozeman gets cut and mekari gets kept - bozeman has not really developed this year at all from what ive seen and we've got mekari taking strides and anchoring in pass pro and learning fast in the running game (at a position he didnt play in college) and also playing 2 positions...

if there was a surprise i think bozeman would be the surprise cut that might happen

also highly possible we keep 9 OL and senat doesnt make it with eluemunor the cover at LT and Hurst the cover at RT

i think at this point there's maybe 3 spots up for grabs between these players:

mcsorley
Dixon
Jaleel Scott
Mekari
Alako
Canady

That's rough because I'm assuming we'll keep McSorley just for the fact that RG3 may or may not be ready to go week 1 (plus, he's looked solid and has future backup potential to begin with). I also feel like we wouldn't just cut Dixon unless we're absolutely fed up with the injuries; he has trade value and I think we would try to ship him elsewhere if there's no plan to keep him. That would leave one more spot between the rest of those players and both Scott and Mekari have impressed during TC...

I think we keep Jaleel. I don't see much reason to keep a 4th RB given we could probably keep two decent prospects on PS.

I agree. I think Scott makes it. I don’t see him being active before a rash of injuries that impact ST though.
