You are literally the only person I've ever heard say they like him. Since you do I'll just leave it at that. lol

and ray was playing on no legs but 1 deer antler
I remember Suggs coming back from an Achilles injury something like a month earlier than expected that year. And then BR.com came out with that article quoting the team doctor talking about how his "genetics" were so great and I damn near burst a blood vessel from raising my eyebrow so hard lol.

I’m re watching our super bowl, and man let me just say, that anyone who thinks jacoby deserves mvp over flacco is a fucking hater straight up.

since seeing Lamar, my eyes have been opened to how bad flacco was, but in that playoff run there’s no doubt who the mvp was not just for the super bowl but for all 4 games. Flacco was absolutely incredible in this super bowl, jacoby made 2 great plays, but flacco was consistently lethal, he absolutely lit these niners up the first half and made clutch throws the second.
I forget the details now but that throw to Boldin in the SB was probably my favourite. It was 2nd or 3rd and long-ish and the 9ers defence was beginning to pin its ears back and then Joe and Boldin connected on that pass that neither had any business finishing and the bar I was in went quiet (lot of 9ers fans in neutral markets).

I feel like we didn't appreciate at the time just how historic that run was. I definitely enjoyed it while it lasted but I never got the feeling I was witnessing history or anything (which is probably the case for people in a lot of historic moments but heyho). Would have been great to be able to enjoy the moment that much more.

so many times i turned off the tv in that broncos game in anguish only to find myself drawn back in by a peak at the score...

did not appreciate it at the time because it was so stressful lol - somehow the Pats game was the least stressful of them all lol

The NFL is planning a "complete mock draft dry run" with all 32 teams in an attempt to familiarize executives with how the virtual NFL Draft will be completed.
With the draft completely moving virtually due to the coronavirus, general managers and owners are worried about how details of the draft will be worked out. Specifically, how many people can meet in one location, how to prevent teams from hacking online communication, how long they'll have between picks, among other things. You'd think multi-billion dollar organizations can figure out a Zoom call without panicking in 2020, but the NFL loves drama and isn't exactly known for being the progressive American sports league. Of course, the teams won't be giving out secrets during this scheduled mock draft, so this really is a non-story.
Something funny or messed will happen for sure and I can't wait. I'd bet money we see a fan in a call at one point or another.

normally against the dolphins or some other sub-par team

for a few years, we got really used to not beating good teams - we'd beat most of the teams we were supposed to beat and then get 1 win a year against a team with a winning record... usually the steelers

2017: we didnt beat a single good team and the lions were the only team we beat with a winning record
2016: we beat one team with a winning record - the 11-5 steelers
2015: 5-11 year with flacco injured - but people sometimes forget that we were 4-7 even with flacco (obviously there were other injuries but we started 0-3 and 1-6 without much of the depth gone yet) - our only win against a winning team with flacco in the game was another win against the steelers (which ryan mallett then also accomplished later in the year lol)
2014: even in 2014, flacco's best post-superbowl year, we only beat 1 team with a winning record - the pittsburgh steelers
2013: only 1 win against a winning team - the cincinnatti bengals

so in those 5 years - a flacco led ravens team never won more than 1 game a year against a winning team
in 2018, ironically before he got injured he led the ravens to 2 wins against winning teams - 1 against the steelers and the other against the titans

that being said - the only good teams a flacco led ravens beat post superbowl were the 2014 steelers in the playoff (and once in season), and the 2013 bengals

we should have realised in 2018 immediately just how much of a seismic shift lamar was - he had 2 big games to close the season - we lost the chiefs game which felt like the same ol' ravens of the flacco era and then we smacked the chargers - probably the best team we'd beaten in the 5+ years since the superbowl victory

and then this year, beating good teams became routine after that win over the seahawks
I need to defend the 2017 team and Flacco that year. That team was low-key nasty. We had shit teams for the larger part of this decade post Super Bowl, and we can't even put that on Flacco's contract. Flacco's contract wasn't slightly bad and we restructured it before he actually took any big cap hit, didn't he only count 7 mil against his first season (obviously with the signing bonus?)

anyway, I recall the vikings game that year (2017) Maclin and Wallace were both hurt that game- so Flacco threw to Mike Camp and Chris Moore and Griff Whalen ... poor soul.

I recall it being even months earlier not just one. Insane how fast our team recovered from injuries that year lmao. Surprised Webb didn't just miss a few weeks post his acl tear.

Well I can say I felt I was watching history, not only that but a culmination of years of patience and disappointment and heartache finally paying off and getting to see our legends put on that ring. It was a run that I just doubt Lamar and this era of the team will be able to top in terms of the epic payoff.

It was poetic justice honestly. I know I was as tense as anyone watching the niners storm back, but man there was never a doubt. When we hit that comeback TD in Denver to find ourselves back in NE, and then we rolled right over the patriots in the conference championship, exactly where we were a year earlier, after losing a game we should’ve won, it was destiny, nothing was stopping us. I’m so glad that we rolled right over them, nothing else would’ve felt fitting honestly

The loss to NE in 2011 was nothing short of devastating. What should have been the game winning drive looked so easy and effortless, only to then have such bad luck at the goal line. A sure trip to the SB was snatched away and it was painful.
We were owed some good fortune in 2012.
