2018 Scouting Combine

he's a young attack dog - he sheds defenders when he's running sideline to sideline - he has the speed to cover running backs in man and the height to be difficult to deal with in zone
The onky thing i can nit pick with him is his tackling form. He doesnt always get his head across the players body

that's true - but he rarely misses tackles - so while he doesnt necessarily punish players with his tackles he makes sure they dont beat him - he's got a good basis to improve from and its not a "problem"
Ya like i said its just nit picking. Itd only be a problem if he was missing the tackles which he usually doesnt

Flaccos issue is footwork. He misses easy throws and makes hard ones, his pocket presence isn't the greatest either.

He flaws are flaccos his strengths are flaccos. You'll get same mistakes the same ups, same downs and same inconsistencies with allen as you do flacco.
Flacco had that sorted and was fine until the ACL and damn contraption on his knee. Looked fine second half of last season, too.
Flacco is a lot bigger guy than Allen and not nearly as athletic, should be much easier for Allen to rectify foot placement issues (as already evidenced at senior bowl and combine).

i will say this - flacco's footwork was a lot better to end the season but his mechanics still looked a bit wonky at times - my hope is that james urban is coming in and helps continue that upward trend

For the first time in my life I feel very optimistic for Flacco going forward.

yeah i havent liked allen much at all and dont understand the hype. i liked him coming into the season, i watched his opening game vs iowa, and immediately said fuck this guy. his accuracy and decision making make him look uncoachable tbh.
Unless he gets thrown into a situation where he has no protection, no running game, no weapons, his absolute floor is Flacco. Which is to say his floor is Flacco if Flacco could make his jaw dropping escapes, throw as accurately on the run, be a consistent threat to pick up first downs with his legs, etc.

He's better than joe coming out and he has a first guy in/last guy out rep. He's got a ways to go but if he goes to a team with a running game and he's brought along slowly he's a franchise guy.

I can't get over Gesicki's numbers. I had no idea he had that sort of athleticism on tape.

I thought he'd surprise with his 40 but didn't think he'd kill the whole combine so much.
Andrews is a better athletic package than I imagined as well.
I clearly missed something on Gesicki and need to go back...Saw him as stiff hipped with build up type speed and nothing to write home about after the catch.

3 cone times from Chase Goodbread
Sam Hubbard: 6.84 (position-best) Harold Landry: 6.88 Taven Bryan: 7.12 Marquis Haynes: 7.14 Arden Key: 7.16 Marcus Davenport: 7.20 Harrison Phillips: 7.28 Bradley Chubb: 7.37 Da'Ron Payne: 7.58 Trent Thompson: 7.68 Derrick Nnadi: 8.15

Just awful from Chubb(as I assumed). Landry should be the first edge rusher off the board that is just an insane time too put up. No doubt in my mind that he was playing hurt in 2017. Still needs to develop power moves but as a finesse player he can rush the passer with the best of them

Taven is a freak!! If WR wasn’t such a need I would consider him at No.16. But if it were my call DJ Moore would be the ravens pick at 16. For whomever puts stock into 40 times. Moore was consistently at 4.38 range during his dry runs. Trying to find out his best computer time.

Interesting from the 2 nfl media insiders:

Rapsheet: After days of evaluation at the Combine, one thing is clear: Penn St RB Saquon Barkley is firmly in the mix at No. 1 for the Browns, sources say. Would be the first RB at that spot since Ki-Jana Carter to the Bengals in 1995.

Garofolo then responded: Yep. Firmly. As in I truly believe he’s their pick at 1 as of right now. As for the QB and what they might do at 4, there is very strong buzz Cleveland likes Baker Mayfield a lot.

sounds like the browns are gonna bluff out the giants and assume they wont take a qb (the problem they then might have is that both the colts and giants could trade back to teams who want to get ahead of the browns - they might suddenly find themselves at the 4th pick with 2 qbs off the board already if they take saquon

if im the browns i make a deal with the giants as soon as possible to move from the 4th pick to the 2nd pick to grab saquon and their qb of choice
the only way this works for them taking saquon at number 1 is if they have their top 3 qbs all at the same grade
