Perriman and WR Hype

I might be the only person who hasn’t given up on Perriman. I just want one completely healthy offseason from him. Next year is his make or break year.
I just don’t know if he’s capable of going through and entire offseason without getting injured. Health is easily his biggest issue.

You probably are because to me; I've seen enough!

This BUM is either always falling down or near to falling down for every pass that comes his way. It's sickening to watch! I'm always standing at my tv screen yelling; "Stay on your feet son! Damn!" whenever a pass is thrown his way! He's a deadly mixture of can't run routes or catch. All I see is a pure BUM and I don't need to give him another year hoping that he'll "suddenly" or "magically" become something great!

Either you have it or you don't!

Yeah I have seen enough too to know another year is not gonna make a difference with Perriman .

He is not a good route runner , his hands are suspect and he’s injured all the time .

Ozzie & Co. should avoid picking receivers in the first round .

I don’t know why you keep saying this. He’s very capable of staying healthy.

Perriman was a project coming into the NFL. Everyone knew this. This is only his second healthy season, and the offense in its entirety is abysmal anyway. There’s no reason to just flat out give up on him right now. So what if he doesn’t look good, players turn things around all the time.

The man was a 1st rd draft pick so he can hardly be considered a "project". The FO drafted him in hopes of his becoming a #1 receiving option for the Ravens which definitely hasn't panned out in his first 3 years in the league. And, what has he truly produced since being healthy this season?

Well, over a 6 game span this season, Perriman has been targeted 17 times with only 4....that's right....4 receptions for a total of 26 yards. He was targeted 4 times in both the Steelers and Bengals games with only 1 reception in both. Against division rivals no less. Trash! See, the numbers and game tape/film don't lie! Perriman is a BUM! Time to move on!

I don’t think anyone who has played one preseason game and has been injured in 3 straight off seasons is a guy worth trusting to stay healthy...
He had no problem staying healthy in college, he’s in no way injury prone, he’s just had some bad luck.

I’m not even gonna bother reading after you said “he can hardly be considered a project”. You’re just wrong.

What happened in college doesn't mean anything right now. I think he's been unlucky, I certainly agree with you there but if someone gets hurt like that in the off-season three seasons in a row, then it's not just bad luck, it's also a trend. Does he have a spot on the roster? Sure, but he won't be very high on the depth chart, btw I've defended him for a very long time, but I think I have to pull the plug on this one.

I couldn't care less what you choose to read or not read in a post. The numbers (his numbers) don't lie! So far, over a 6 game span this season, Perriman only has...4 receptions....after being targeted 17 times with a total of 26 yards. Those who are not so emotional can see that this cat is a BUM!

I'll say this in his defense though. The Ravens coaches seem to really struggle with "developing" WR talent (i.e. route running, catching, blocking and working off DB's etc.). And based upon what I've seen from him he may be falling victim to that scenario as well. Ravens receivers like Boldin or Smith, Sr. are a rare breed in Baltimore.

Talk about Flacco or the receivers all you want. We suck on offense because we don’t run. If we run the ball we then focus on getting easy plays for the receivers.

I suspect we will keep Perriman around next year but I will be absolutely shocked if he turns it around .

For whatever reason/s we dont know how to develop a WR, and our arial game is so inefficient that our recievers run cold. We're usually good for one single 1000 yard reciever and its almost always the old guy we bring in.

The fact is he was a 1st round pick. Whether you think he should have been is meaningless.
Your opinion of “first round picks aren’t projects” is meaningless. First of all, I don’t know what you think Perriman was coming out of college but he was no where near close to a polished receiver. What is that called? Hmm. And yes it does have meaning. Even if your statement were true, he should’nt have been a 1st round pick. Which negates your statement.
