Next Up: Division Round vs Titans

Sounds good on paper but implies beating the Ravens O line, enough speed to catch Lamar. Then, keep in mind Kaep couldn't do 20% of what Lamar does in passing game.

I see he’s got 2 TEs there... so tell me, who covers EITHER of them? If this is what they do then Hollywood is isolated and singled ALL DAY, and only one of our TEs is covered.

I fucking hope this is the gameplan lmao, remember that gameplan only worked for 2 quarters in the super bowl and Kaepernick is utter trash.

lol he's got 3 TEs there - like i appreciate the thought that went in but it's just not going to work...

  1. Rashaan Evans as a spy is not going to work - that takes him out of both the running and the passing game and he's coming from the middle of the defence so he's got so much wash to get through before he gets to the edge to even have a chance of keeping up with lamar + when we're in the diamond boyle likely comes round the edge and seals him or cut blocks him because he's got the better angle - and if boyle doesnt get him its most likely because he's not going to impact the play - so happily have evans spy from the middle because now its 11 v 10 from the beginning
  2. With how he's getting jurell casey to play that gap they're screwed inherently - Orlando will down block onto him and leave the guy outside unblocked for lamar to read with bozeman pulling, and possibly boyle pulling too (and ricard if he's on the field) which leaves boyle and lamar free outside to the right
  3. If they sell hard on Lamar, Pat Ricard or Hayden Hurst pulling across are going to kick the hell out of Correa or whoever that edge guy is and with Andrews and and Stanley on that edge the running game gets opened up there
  4. If they really commit to stopping the run in this look then it means that Andrews is in single coverage, if we want to leak boyle out he's got single coverage and all the leverage - hayden hurst just has to run a simple route towards the boundary and he's wide open as long as hollywood clears the defender he's singled with - if hollywood runs a post then hayden can run a corner route and be wide open with leverage against a LB with the safety over the top having to pick who to stay over the top of (and you know they're likely picking either andrews or hollywood - who might beat the double-team anyway)

if they give us this look we're going to feast - wont even be that difficult - and if we get in the diamond formation and they still give us this look we'll run all over them

The problem here is the defense only held long enough to let the Niners back into the game. The Niners could’ve easily won if not for a few key plays. It wasn’t just Roman vs Pees because you can argue Roman started to win that match at the end. It was also Caldwell against Fangio(?). Either way, our OC vs their DC.

A guy giving us a game plan to stop us actually made me more confident than before lmao. Good job guy.

honestly, watching that, and hearing just how much people attribute to the scheme and Lamar’s running and totally discount our talent and passing, makes me really confident. It’s baffling that our talent is still so underrated

probably because the last stat column is the only one where in the passing game we statistically stand out: TDs
in all the other categories our guys dont statistically stand out which is why they're acknowledged by analysts (actual analysts) but completely ignored by random pundits and 1 team specialists

but if you look at tds - hollywood tied our franchise record for most receiving tds by a rookie wr, mark andrews broke our franchise record for most receiving tds by a TE, lamar has thrown for more tds than anyone in franchise history and also more than anyone in the league in 2019, mark ingram is 4th in total tds (mark andrews is 10th - 2nd in receiving tds in the league at all positions)

They announced the officials for the Divisional Round Games this weekend. Bill Vinovich will be the ref for our game against the Titans. He was the ref for the debacle that became PI Review last year in the Rams-Saints game.

Though for his credit, he has called the third fewest amount of penalties in 2019. So that could mean the players could be allowed to play Saturday. On reddit, they posted a website that tells you the stats of officials and the amount of times they call a penalty.

For this to work is you need Correa (a marginal starting OLB) to do the job of the 2012 version of T Sizzle (a hall of famer in his prime). Youre selling out on the edge in this formation and IF we are going with this as a run Lamar will let go of the ball and this will be an inside dive every time.

If your 1 inside guy doesn’t get off his block it is a 10 yard run if you are lucky. Run this right and It’s Yanda you have to beat. Oh and how about Lamar turns this in play action and hits Andrews up the seam or just sends one deep?

So if your sole concern is to keep Lamar off the edge this can work and that may be our most potent element but there is a lot more to worry about with this offense. Just ask any DC that has already faced us.

Some of the media that you read or watch is just do funny. On the Titans website there's a video of Deon Sanders saying why the Titans could upset us. His reason, "you don't put a Lamborghini in the garage. He could be rusty. You're gonna put 8 in the box to stop him because they've got 2 dogs on the outside that can straight cover." wtf is he on about.

I watched that on the Ravens website and thought the same thing

People are groping to find a reason why this might be a game.

Whether people agree with Harbaugh's decision to sit Lamar week 16 or not, the point became totally moot. Lamar was sick as a dog that day. They showed him on the sidelines looking like death warmed over and he said he left the sidelines during the game (presumably to hurl).

Rust vs Rest is a tired theme. Indy did it like 12 years ago and it backfired on them. Other teams have done it with no averse affects. Beside, its not like we rested the team. Week 17 everyone looked sharp (well, hard to tell on the defense whether it mattered because PIT has such a tragic offense) but that D is no joke and we rolled over them with backups at the skill positions.

Lamar will be the first to tell you he doesn't do this alone. The key to his success is the hammer that is our tandem of O line and wham blocking TEs and FB. Those guys were still mauling and are going to be fresh and ready to lay that hammer down.

We are not some finesse passing offense. We're a physical team. The rest will do them well. I personally haven't felt this confident about a game in a while. The following week is the test.

Harbs and this ravens organisation are also statistically incredible after a bye - i think we're 9-2 since harbs took over - now obviously this isnt the same as a traditional bye because we didnt know who the opposing team would be during the 1st week but we had apparently been doing extra work on the titans because they were the team we hadnt faced yet

I think he has more wins than that.

Yeesh. That's the kind of take that makes Booger "the Bills should run a draw play on 3rd and 10 and then spike it" McFarland look like a Rhodes Scholar.
