mostly not a ton of new info here about EDC or the draft but a couple of notes that interested me:
- ravens have around 185 players on the main board
- EDC will have only watched around 120 total guys now that hes the GM - which makes it even more appropriate when he's referred to day 3 as "scouts day"
- thinks we can get guys through the 4th round that can start in this deep draft class - said that historically only about 20% of 4th round picks statistically end up as "significant" players but that the ravens are a little better than that but not much
- doesnt see many grade gaps on the board... what he called "bald space" where there's holes in the board with big tier drops
probably most interesting part, contextually coming up because marlon asked if EDC would have drafted him, which we sort of know but it's always interesting listening to EDC talk about the process of scrimmaging prospects and stacking the board and running the room and how all that stuff is hashed out so that we can just draft BPA
also the stuff about having the fallback player you feel good about, even if they arent the guy you want and the haloti ngata year when the fallback got taken top 10
who was the fallback in the Ngata year?
